The CEED 2026 exam has two parts - Part A (objective) and Part B (subjective).
The CEED Answer Key is used not only to verify your answers but also to estimate your marks using the official marking scheme. CEED Part A comprises NAT (Numerical Answer Type), MSQ (Multiple Select Questions), and MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions).
Here’s how each question type is evaluated:
|
Question Type |
Marks for Correct Answer |
Negative Marks |
Approx. No. of Questions |
Total Marks |
|
NAT (Numerical Answer Type) |
+4 |
None |
8 |
32 |
|
MSQ (Multiple Select Questions) |
+4 (partial marking) |
-1 if any wrong option chosen |
10 |
40 |
|
MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) |
+3 |
-0.5 |
26 |
78 |
| Total | 150 |
Total Marks = (Correct NAT × 4) + (Correct MSQ × 4 − Wrong MSQ × 1) + (Correct MCQ × 3 − Wrong MCQ × 0.5)
Compare your responses from the CEED answer sheet with the key and apply this formula to get your predicted Part A score.
Worked example- Suppose you get 6 NAT correct, 20 MCQ correct (3 wrong), and 8 MSQ fully correct (2 MSQ with a wrong option):
NOTE: MSQ uses partial marking, so a partially-correct MSQ (no wrong option selected) earns proportional marks. Your final CEED score then applies the formula- Final Score = 0.25 × Part A + 0.75 × Part B.
To see how Part A fits the full 250-mark exam, review the CEED exam pattern and weightage.
Once you've estimated your Part A score with the final answer key, use it as a rough guide to gauge where you stand. Remember- Part A only decides whether your Part B is evaluated and it is Part B where 75% of weightage lies, the section that will decide your final rank.
| Estimated Part A (of 150) | What it likely means | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Comfortably above the category cut-off | Strong chance your Part B is evaluated | Shift fully to portfolio and interview prep |
| Around the cut-off | Borderline - depends on final key & category | Prepare Part B anyway; keep a close watch on the official cut-off |
| Below the likely cut-off | Part B may not be evaluated this cycle | Plan a structured reattempt; analyze weak areas or plan a backup |
NOTE: Cut-offs move every year with difficulty level of the paper and candidate category. Confirm the official CEED cut-off before drawing conclusions.
1. The CEED 2026 answer key is released only for Part A questions.
2. Download both draft and final answer keys for comparison.
3. Always refer to the final CEED answer key for accurate score estimation.
4. The CEED answer sheet can be downloaded from the candidate login portal
5. Objections to the draft answer key must be submitted within the official window.
6. The final answer key is binding and cannot be challenged.

Using the CEED Answer Key for part A, candidates can estimate whether they’ll qualify for part B evaluation and eventually for the further shortlisting rounds or not. Based on previous trends, the expected CEED 2026 cut-off marks could be in the following range for different categories:
| Category | Expected Part A Cut Off (2027) | Expected Change from 2026 | Remarks |
|---|---|---|---|
| General (GEN) | 55 - 60 | Slightly higher | Steady competition |
| OBC-NCL | 50 - 55 | Slightly higher | Due to higher GEN category cut off |
| SC/ST/PwD | 28 - 32 | Stable | Few applicants |
Actual cut-offs may vary slightly once IIT Bombay publishes the final CEED answer key and official cut-off list.

Design educators and CEED mentors have analyzed previous papers and predict that:
1. The CEED 2027 Part A paper is expected to emphasize on visualization, spatial reasoning, and logical thinking.
2. NAT questions might be more concept based, testing spatial or logical conclusions and less of formula driven.
3. In MSQ section - expect maximum questions on observation, design thinking, Practical and scientific principles behind everyday objects, and design awareness.
4. Difficulty level will remain moderate, but time management will be crucial.
Practice a mix of design aptitude and reasoning-based questions using CEED question papers and mock tests from previous years.
The CEED Answer Key 2026 is an essential document for every aspirant aiming to crack the Common Entrance Exam for Design. It provides transparency, enables early score estimation, and helps students evaluate their preparation level.
