CEED Eligibility Criteria 2023

Summary: Candidates who wish to study Master’s in Design from IIT Bombay must fulfil the CEED eligibility criteria 2023. Those who fail to meet the requirements will not be allowed to participate in the selection process. 

IIT Bombay has announced the CEED eligibility criteria for the 2023-2024 session.

Candidates who wish to apply for the examination have to ensure that they adhere to all eligibility factors. As per the official notification, there is no minimum age limit to write the examination.

Qualifying for the CEED examination will help to get admission to the M.Des course offered by coveted IITs and other design schools.

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2023

Candidates wishing to appear in the upcoming exam must qualify for CEED eligibility as prescribed by IIT Bombay.

Age Limit

There is no age limit to write or appear in the CEED 2023 examination as per the eligibility criteria. 

Educational Qualification

As per the CEED eligibility criteria 2023, the candidate should have completed a degree/diploma/postgraduate degree program from a recognized university. This can be for at least three years (after the 10+2 level). Candidates pursuing the final year course from any college can write the CEED exam only if the result is declared before the document verification round.

Maximum Attempts

Candidates can attempt the examination if they qualify for the requirements, as per the CEED participating universities. 

Scribe Qualification

The orthopedically or visually impaired candidates will be allowed to have a scribe facility to appear in part A of the CEED examination. The candidates will be required to follow the following rules to get a scribe:

  • They have to mention that they belong to the PWD category in the application form.
  • The scribe shall be provided to the candidates by the authorities themselves.

CEED Reservation 2023

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has prescribed the reservation policy for the CEED 2023 examination. As per this policy, the seats have been reserved for candidates in the reserved category. Go through the section to understand the same:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 15%
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27%
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10%

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2023 for Foreign Nationals

Foreign nationals are also allowed to participate in the CEED 2023 examination only if they have eligibility. IIT Bombay has prescribed a set of rules under the CEED eligibility that has to be qualified by the candidates. Check out the same below:

  • Candidate should have completed 10+2+3 years (or 10+2+4 years) in any stream 
  • Candidate must have a diploma in the design of 4 years after 10th or 3 years after 10+2
  • They must have a valid passport and should be at least 18 years of age as on July 1, 2023

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2023 for IIT Bombay

Candidates who wish to be admitted to IIT Bombay have to qualify for the basic standards prescribed by the CEED college.

The college has notified the aggregate percentage for both unreserved and reserved categories that can be checked in the section below:

Unreserved  55% or equivalent grades in the qualifying degrees
Reserved 50% or equivalent grades in the qualifying degrees
