IBPS CLERK 2016 Selection Procedure

IBPS Clerk is one of the most awaited examinations of 2016. It offers recruitment for the Clerical post in different participating banks. IBPS CLERK 2016 Selection Procedure is the detailed process through which, final recruitment of the qualified candidates is done. The selection takes place through multiple stages and a candidate should qualify each stage for getting a job in one of the participating banks.

There are three main stages for IBPS CLERK 2016 Selection Procedure, which are- Preliminary exam, Main exam or common written examination (CWE- used for both Prelim & Main), followed by interview round and document verification.

Stage I- IBPS Clerk Selection Procedure 2016 – Clear Preliminary Examination

The candidates need to clear the prelim exam, first of all. This is your first hurdle in the process of making it to the clerical division of a participating bank. The exam pattern is-

  • 100 questions= 100 marks

  • Time Duration= 01 hour

Stage II- IBPS Clerk Selection Procedure 2016 – Clear Main Examination

After a candidate has cleared the prelim exam, the next stage involves Main exam. This is a bit tedious stage. That is why; the aspirants should have a complete preparation for this. The exam pattern is-

  • 200 questions= 200 marks

  • 5 sections= Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge

  • Each section= 40 questions of 1 marks each

  • Negative marking for every wrong answer= 0.25 marks

  • Time Duration= 02 hours

Stage III- IBPS Clerk Selection Procedure 2016 – Final Interview Round and Document Verification

  • The successful candidates shall be called for interview round.

  • Screening will be done for responsiveness in given circumstances and vocal skills.

Documents required for verification include-

  • Printout of Valid Calls Letter

  • Valid Online Application form

  • Date of Birth Proof

  • Photo Identity Proof

  • Graduation Mark sheet

  • If applied for reservation Caste Certificate

  • Medical Certificate for Physically Disability candidates

  • Experience Certificates

  • NOC from department (applicable for those candidates who are pursuing any Government Jobs / Public Sector Undertaking job)

Preparation of the merit list and call for provisional Allotment Process

After this, the merit list is prepared and released by IBPS. This IBPS Clerk Exam Merit List 2016 list is prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in Written Main examination and interview round. The shortlisted IBPS Clerk exam 2016 candidates, on the basis of merit list shall be then, called for provisional Allotment Process.
