NID Vijayawada Courses Offered 

National Institute of Design Andhra Pradesh Vijayawada offers undergraduate programmes. Courses are offered full-time in different streams, such as animation, design and architecture. 

4-year undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in three specialisations:

NID Vijayawada Admission Process 

The National Institute of Design (NID) conducts the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT), a national entrance test, to grant admission to design undergraduate programmes in Vijayawada. The National Institute of Design administers the NID DAT, a national entrance examination. The test is administered once every year. 

The admission process for NID AP is as follows: 

• Apply online: Candidates can apply for admission to NID Vijayawada through the official website of NID using www.nid.ac.in. Candidates can fill out the NID DAT application form in online mode and pay the NID DAT application fee in online mode as well. 
• Qualify DAT: The first step in the admission process is to qualify for the Design Aptitude Test (DAT). The DAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted yearly for admission to all NIDs. The DAT is a two-stage exam that consists of a written test and an interview.

NID Vijayawada Eligibility Criteria 

Presently, the NID Vijayawada campus takes only 75 students per year for the B.Des program. Candidates must meet the requirements established by the institute to be considered for admission to NID Andhra Pradesh.  

The eligibility criteria for candidates who are appearing for the NID DAT exam are as follows: 

Age Limit: 

• Only candidates born on or after July 1, 2003, can apply for admission as Indian nationals in the General Category and General EWS Category.  
• Only candidates born on or after July 1, 2000, are eligible to apply for admission as Indian nationals in the Reserved Category (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBC- NCL), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST).  
• Only candidates born on or after July 1, 1998, can apply for admission as Indian nationals in the PWD Reserved Category.  
• Only candidates born on or after July 1, 2003, are eligible to apply for admission as Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary). 

Academic qualifications:  

• Candidates must have passed or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in any stream (science, arts, commerce, humanities, etc.) from any recognised board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or equivalent.  
• Candidates can apply from any stream (science, arts, commerce, humanities, etc.).  
• The candidate must have a good command of English.
