(IIM IPM) IPMAT Selection Process 2023

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, has revised the IPMAT selection process for 2023. As per the revised structure, a video assessment test will be conducted instead of a written and personal interview.

If you are aspiring to apply for IPMAT, then it is important to be aware of the stages involved in selection. This post takes you through complete details regarding IPMAT Selection Process 2023.

IPMAT Selection Process for Domestic Applicants

The selection process for IPMAT 2023 involves five stages, as explained below. Note that the final scores will be calculated based on an aptitude test and video-based assessment.

Phase-1: Registration

  • You can apply for the exam only if you fulfil the IPMAT Eligibility Criteria set by the exam conducting body.
  • The entire application process is through online mode only.
  • You must keep a few scanned documents ready while filling out the form, as you must upload them in the specified format.
  • The application fee is Rs. 4130 for the general category and Rs. 2605 for the SC/ST/PwD category.

Phase-2: IPMAT 2023 Exam

  • You will be called to appear for the Aptitude Test, the second stage of the IPMAT selection process, after the application process.
  • IIM IPM Aptitude Test is conducted across 34 cities in India. 

As per the IPMAT Exam Pattern 2023, there will be three sections in the Aptitude Test: Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA), and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ).

There are a total of 60 questions in the aptitude test, and each question carries 4 marks. Also, there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer except for in the Quantitative Ability (SA) Section.

Phase-3: Video Assessment

At this stage, you will get qualified for the video assessment round based on positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three sections of the Aptitude Test.

  • The Admissions Committee will decide the minimum cut-off marks in each section.
  • The minimum cut-off marks in each section will be based on the category to which you belong.

Phase-4: Merit List Generation

You will be shortlisted for video assessment based on the merit list generated based on the Aptitude Test Score (ATS).

  • Suppose you get shortlisted for the Video Based Assessment. In that case, you will be required to upload a self-recorded video file within a stipulated time period soon after the announcement of the Aptitude Test Result.
  • You will be given a set of questions on which you will be required to record your videos and upload them within the given time period.
  • You will be disqualified from the further selection process in case if you fail to upload the self-recorded video in the stipulated time.

The scores are calculated based on the below parameters.

Phase-5: Final Merit List

  • You will be considered for the final selection process based on the IPMAT Cut Off marks
  • Category-wise merit list will be generated based on Composite Score (CS)
  • Provisional admission offers will be made accordingly, adhering to the Government of India reservation norms.

IPM Selection Process 2023 for International Applicants Applying through SAT

Suppose you apply to the five-year IPM of IIM Indore as an international applicant. In that case, you will be selected based on your SAT, Written Ability Test (WAT) & Personal Interview (PI) performance. Phase-1 Selection Process for International Applicants

  • The first stage of the IPMAT selection process is the registration phase, in which you must submit your application form on or before the last date.
  •  You should submit the online form only if you satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria.
  • Go through the IPMAT Syllabus to know important subject-wise topics. 

IPMAT Phase-2 Selection Process for International Applicants

  • You will be shortlisted for the next round of the selection process based on the merit list generated by using the SAT score. 
  • Note that you will not be considered for the next stage of the selection process if you are not meeting the minimum performance in any of the PI parameters.
  • Per the IPMAT notification, individual regret letters will not be sent to you if you are not shortlisted for WAT and PI.

IPMAT Phase-3 Selection Process for International Applicants

You will be considered for the final selection process only if you satisfy the requirements mentioned in the earlier stages. The final merit list will be generated based on the Composite Score (CS) as follows:

Yes. As per the IPMAT 2024 Selection Procedure, there is a separate reservation percentage for each category.
