The IPMAT Selection Process involves different phases: Registration, IPMAT 2020 Exam, written ability test (WAT) and personal interview (PI), Merit list generation, and the final list.

  • Candidates who will get qualified in the IPMAT 2020 Exam are called for the next stage of the selection process.
  • Aspirants should be aware of the IPMAT Eligibility criteria to apply for the exam.
  • In the first stage, students will be shortlisted based on the score of the aptitude test whereas in the second stage, on the basis of Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
  • Candidates must know that IIM Indore will not provide admission to candidates merely on the basis of clearing the IPMAT 2020 entrance test.
  • If candidates fail to appear in either of the exams shall not be eligible for the final IPMAT 2020 selection process.

IPMAT Selection Procedure 2020 for Domestic Applicants

Candidates have to qualify in the aptitude test, writing ability test, and personal interview to get selected for the final admission procedure. candidates can go through all the phases of the selection procedure for domestic applicants in this post.

IPMAT Phase-1 Selection Process

The first stage of the IPMAT selection process is the registration phase in which candidates have to submit their application forms on or before the last date. Candidates who have satisfied the minimum eligibility criteria should submit the application online.

IPMAT Phase-2 Selection Process

Based on the applications received, IIM Indore calls the eligible candidates to appear for the Aptitude Test (AT) which is conducted in 34 cities across the country. The IPMAT Exam Pattern of the aptitude test as follows:

  • The aptitude exam consists of three sections: Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Questions), and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Questions).
  • The total number of questions in the exam is 100 and each question carries 4 marks.
  • There will be a negative marking of 1 for each wrong answer. However, there is no negative marking for the Quantitative Ability section.

IPMAT Phase-3 Selection Process

In the third phase of the selection process, the IIM Indore will create an eligible pool for stage-4 process based on the raw scores, and the minimum cut off marks scored in each section of the aptitude test. The cut off marks for each section will be decided by the Admission Committee. 

IPMAT Phase-4 Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted for written ability test and personal interview from the eligible pool for each category based on the minimum marks scored in each section of the aptitude test. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in any of PI parameters will not be considered for the next stage of the selection process. The merit list will be generated based on the Aptitude test score as follows:

IPMAT Phase-5 Selection Process

Only candidates who satisfy the requirements mentioned in the earlier stages will be considered for the final selection process. Category wise merit list will be generated based on Composite Score (CS) as mentioned in the table below.

IPMAT Selection Procedure 2020 for International Applicants Applying through SAT

International applicants seeking admission to five-year IPM of IIM Indore will be selected based on the performance in SAT, Written Ability Test (WAT) & Personal Interview (PI). If candidates fail to appear either in SAT, WAT and PI shall not be considered for the final selection process.

IPMAT Phase-1 Selection Process for International Applicants

The first stage of the IPMAT selection process is the registration phase in which candidates have to submit their application forms on or before the last date. Candidates who have satisfied the minimum eligibility criteria should submit the application online.

IPMAT Phase-2 Selection Process for International Applicants

Candidates will be shortlisted for Written Ability Test (WAT) & Personal Interview (PI) based on the merit list which is generated by using the SAT score. 

  • Shortlisted candidates shall appear for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) at any one of the seven centers mentioned below.
  • Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in any of PI parameters will not be considered for the next stage of the selection process.
  • As per the IPMAT notification, individual regret letters will not be sent to applicants who are not shortlisted for WAT and PI.

IPMAT Phase-3 Selection Process for International Applicants

Only candidates who satisfy the requirements mentioned in the earlier stages will be considered for the final selection process. The final merit list will be generated based on the Composite Score (CS) as follows:
