Category-Wise IIM Bangalore UG Cut Off 2026–27

For the first time, IIM Bangalore has clearly demonstrated that Section 3 – QADI is the primary filtering section.

Candidates failing to meet the QADI sectional cut off are not shortlisted, regardless of their performance in other sections.

Official Category-Wise Cut Offs (2026–27)

Minimum Percentile Requirements for First Shortlist (IIMB UG cut off 2026–27)

Category Section 1 (VARC) Section 2 (LR) Section 3 (QADI) Total Score
General NA NA 80 114
NC-OBC NA NA 75 75
EWS NA NA 75 78
SC NA NA 70 69
ST NA NA 70 50
PwD NA NA 70 60

These cut-offs are used only for preparing the first shortlist.

What This Means

  • QADI is non-negotiable. Weak math = rejection.
  • Section 3 had 30 questions, each worth 3 marks (total 90 marks).
  • One or two mistakes in QADI can cost you the shortlist.

Even in reserved categories, the QADI requirement remains strict, proving that IIM Bangalore prioritizes data and quantitative skills.

Basis of IIM Bangalore UG Cut Off Determination

The IIMB UG cut off is not random. It is a result of weightage rules + seat scarcity.

Section-Wise Weightage

  • QADI – 50%
  • Logical Reasoning – 25%
  • Verbal Ability – 25%

Half the exam weight comes from math and data interpretation.

Candidates who focused equally on all sections made a strategic mistake. Toppers clearly prioritized QADI, and the cut off reflects this.

Seat Intake Reality

Total seats: 80 only

  • Data Science: 40
  • Economics: 40

After reservation:

  • General: ~32 seats
  • OBC-NCL: ~22 seats
  • SC: ~12 seats
  • ST: ~6 seats
  • EWS: ~8 seats

Thousands of applicants. Dozens of seats.
The cut off had to be aggressive. It filtered out over 99% of candidates.
