IIM Bangalore BBA Cut Off 2026: Official Criteria, Category-Wise Marks

The IIM Bangalore BBA DBE cut off for 2026 is out, and there is one change worth paying attention to.

For candidates who took the IIMB DBE Entrance Test, the qualifying cut off is now 50% for General, 50% for NC-OBC and EWS, and 40% for SC, ST and PwD (DA).

That second figure is the interesting one.

In the previous two cycles, NC-OBC and EWS candidates had a five-percentage-point cushion over the General category on the IIMB Test. In 2024 and 2025, their cut off was 45%, compared with 50% for General candidates.

In 2026, that gap has disappeared. NC-OBC and EWS candidates now have to meet the same 50% cut off as General candidates for the IIMB Test.

The change is specific to the IIMB entrance test. The cut offs through CUET (UG) General Test Section III and JEE Main remain unchanged from last year.

CUET GAT vs JEE Main Cut Off for IIM Bangalore BBA 2026

Candidates who didn't take the IIMB Test — or who have a stronger score through another route — can still qualify using CUET or JEE Main.

The CUET and JEE Main thresholds have not changed from 2025.

There are a few details here that are easy to miss.

For CUET, IIMB considers Section III of the General Test. The domain subjects and English section don't form part of this particular qualifying score.

IIMB is also accepting eligible CUET and JEE Main scores from 2024, 2025 and 2026.

So if a candidate has appeared through more than one route, the strongest eligible score can be used.

IIM Bangalore BBA Cut Off 2026

The IIMB BBA DBE Test took place on 26 July 2026, between 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM.

The exam was conducted at 23 centres across the country, and the results were announced in the second week of August.

It is also worth clearing up what the cut-off actually means. The figure released by IIM Bangalore is a qualifying cut-off, not a rank or merit cut-off.

So, there is no fixed rank that candidates have to beat.

There are three routes through which a candidate can qualify:

• IIMB DBE Entrance Test
• CUET (UG) General Test, Section III
• JEE Main

If a candidate submitted more than one eligible score, IIMB uses the better score.

And no, JEE Advanced doesn't count. The admissions criteria specifically refer to JEE Main.

The BBA DBE also differs from IIM Bangalore's other undergraduate programmes.

This is a three-year online BBA in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship, not an IPM and not one of the BSc (Hons) programmes.

As of 18 August, some dates are still missing from the admissions calendar. IIMB has not yet announced the deadlines for offer acceptance, withdrawal or Term 1 fee payment, and the programme inauguration date is also listed as TBA.

IIM Bangalore has now published the 2026 cut-off details for the BBA in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship (DBE).

The pattern is fairly clear.

The General and SC/ST/PwD thresholds have stayed exactly where they were for all three cycles. The change is entirely on the NC-OBC and EWS line, which has moved from 45% to 50%.

There is another point that deserves a little caution: the General Awareness section.

The 2024 admission document explicitly mentioned a 20% General Awareness qualifying requirement before the combined score was considered. The 2025 and 2026 admission information does not mention that separate gate.

That does not necessarily mean the institute has formally abolished it.

IIM Bangalore's FAQ continues to indicate that sectional cut offs can be applied at the institute's discretion. Since there is no section-wise scorecard information available for this cycle, it would be too strong to say that a separate GA threshold definitely does not exist.

The safer reading is simply this: the 2026 published cut-off information does not state a separate GA gate.

Why Did the NC-OBC & EWS Cut Off Increase for IIMB BBA 2026?

IIM Bangalore hasn't given a public explanation for why the IIMB Test cut off changed this year, so there isn't enough evidence to say exactly what prompted the decision.

What we can say is that this isn't a blanket change across every admission route.

The NC-OBC and EWS relaxation remains in place for the CUET and JEE Main pathways:

• CUET: 65th percentile versus 70th for General
• JEE Main: 45th percentile versus 50th for General

The change is therefore limited to the IIMB DBE Entrance Test, where NC-OBC and EWS candidates now have the same 50% qualifying requirement as General candidates.

For students preparing for a future IIMB DBE cycle, the practical takeaway is simple: don't assume that the previous 45% IIMB Test threshold for NC-OBC and EWS will continue.

If you are eligible to use CUET or JEE Main instead, those category-wise relaxations remain relevant.

IIM Bangalore BBA Eligibility Criteria 2026

Clearing the entrance test cut-off is only one part of the admission process. Candidates must also satisfy IIM Bangalore's academic eligibility requirements.

The requirements differ slightly by category, particularly for the Class 12 marks:

The process is fairly straightforward:

3. If more than one eligible score has been submitted, the better score is considered.
4. Candidates who clear the applicable requirement are invited to proceed with registration and fee payment.

There is no GD or interview as part of this BBA DBE selection process.

Is There an Interview or GD Round After the IIM Bangalore BBA Cut Off?

No. IIM Bangalore's 2026 admission document states that candidates are selected solely on their performance in the test.

No interview, group discussion or written-ability round is part of the BBA DBE process.

This is a common and costly confusion, because IIMB's other undergraduate programmes work differently: the BSc (Hons) Economics and BSc (Hons) Data Science courses weight the entrance test at 60% and a personal interview at 40%.

IIM Bangalore BBA Cut Off: What to Do Next?

The total programme tuition is ₹4.5 lakh for the three-year course. SC/ST/PwD students receive a 50% tuition waiver, bringing the total to ₹2.25 lakh.

The fee is spread across the three years:

The programme follows a staged structure, with a certificate after Year 1, a diploma after Year 2 and the BBA degree after completion of Year 3.

One final caution for students researching the programme: there isn't a graduating batch yet.

The first cohort began in September 2024. That means placement or salary figures being circulated online should be treated carefully unless they come directly from IIM Bangalore or are clearly identified as projections or third-party estimates.
