Earlier, IIM (Indian Institute of Management) only offered PGP or MBA program. IIM Indore admission after XII via IPM was introduced to provide early and comprehensive management education aiming to develop skilled professionals ready to meet challenges of the business world.
So, IIM Indore admission process was decided through conduction of a performance-based entrance test for their 5-year integrated program in management (IPM) called Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) Indore.
The procedure to get into IIM after 12th is very simple; you need to crack the IPMAT Indore along with the personal interview.

For IIM Indore admission, shortlisted candidates from IPMAT shall appear for the Personal Interview (PI) through online/offline mode which will be intimated to the candidates by the Institute. Only those candidates satisfying the requirements in two stages viz., application form and entrance test, will be considered for the final selection. Merit list will be generated based on Composite Score (CS) explained below:

STAGE 3- In this stage, the eligible pool for Stage-4 {i.e. Personal Interview (PI)} is created considering only the candidates having positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three sections of Aptitude Test. The minimum cut off mark in each section will be decided by the Admissions Committee. There are sectional cut-offs.
STAGE 4- Sufficient number of candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI) from the eligible pool (refer Stage- 3) for each category (General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD) using the merit list generated based on Aptitude Test Score (ATS).
STAGE 5: Only those candidates satisfying the requirements mentioned in earlier stages will be considered for the final selection. Category wise merit list will be generated based on Composite Score (CS).

Getting into IIM, the first challenge is to crack the IPMAT exam. Whether you are from the Commerce stream or any other stream, you will have to crack the exam to get into IIM.
The gamechanger factor is that whether you have Math or not with Commerce. If you have Math, then the syllabus for Quantitative becomes easier. It will be comparatively easier for you to grab the concept and score higher.
