IIM Kozhikode BMS Program 2025 Overview

The IIM Kozhikode BMS Programme is a path-breaking milestone in the institute's history, as it introduces its first-ever full-time 4-year undergraduate programme, the Bachelor of Management Studies (Honours with Research).

Launching in the 2025-26 academic year, this pioneering four-year programme will be conducted at IIM Kozhikode's Kochi campus.

Credit-Based System

The curriculum is credit-based, with credits being the workload of a course.

The credit system is as follows:

1 Credit = 1 hour of classroom instruction per week for a semester

A 4-credit course requires at least 4 hours of classroom interaction per week for the semester.

For every in-class hour of instruction, 2 hours of preparation are anticipated on the part of students (prior and after class)

IIM Kozhikode BMS Course Details 2025

The courses will have three major parts:

Part 1

Foundation Courses

The Foundation Courses are designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge and basic skills in major disciplines that form the foundation for further studies in management.

The courses develop analytical reasoning, communication, and general understanding of the social, economic, and technological environments within which management functions.

Subject areas addressed in the foundation curriculum include:

Part 2

Core Courses

Students need to complete the equivalent of 80 credits (about 20-24 courses) in this segment.

Part 3

Elective Courses

These electives are linked directly to the Minor areas selected by the students.

Each student must choose at least one minor, and each minor requires a minimum of 40 credits, which is approximately 10-12 courses.

Elective courses cover a wide range of interdisciplinary and emerging fields.

IIM Kozhikode BMS Eligibility 2025

The eligibility criteria for the IIM Kozhikode BMS Program are as follows:

Minimum Educational Qualification

• Passed the HSC/Class XII/IB/Equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  OR
• Completed a post-Class X diploma (in any stream) recognized by the relevant government authorities

Provisional Eligibility

• Those awaiting their HSC, Class XII, IB, or equivalent results in 2025 may also apply.

Post-Test Marks Submission

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have passed Class 12 or a diploma (after 10 years of schooling) from a recognised board. Original certificates have to be submitted by August 1, 2025.

Stage 1

IIMK BMS Aptitude Test (IIMK BMS AT) 2025

Every candidate is called to appear for the IIMK BMS Aptitude Test (IIMK BMS AT) 2025 unless exempted.

The following valid standardized test scores held by candidates are exempted from appearing in

• IIMK BMS AT
• JEE (Main)
• SAT
• ACT

Stage 2

Shortlisting for Personal Interview

A shortlist of candidates in each category will be drawn up based on an Aggregate Index Score (AIS), which considers:

• Performance in the entrance test (IIMK BMS AT or valid standardized test scores)
• Academic performance in Class XII / Diploma Marks secured in Class X

Personal Interview (PI)

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview (PI), which will be held at the following cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai, and New Delhi.

The PI exercise will take around half a day (morning or afternoon slot), and each interview will last about 15 minutes.
