The Supreme Court has upheld the Delhi High Court's order allowing Delhi University to admit students to its five-year integrated law courses for the academic year 2023-24 based on CLAT-UG 2023 scores.

The decision considered the ongoing academic year and classes that had already commenced.

The Supreme Court bench, led by CJI DY Chandrachud, stated that it was an interlocutory order and could not be interfered with, and the matter would be considered further for the next academic year.

Concerns were raised about whether admissions should be based solely on the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) and whether Central universities could admit students through other specialized agency examinations.

For the current academic year, DU can admit students based on CLAT UG result 2023, as classes have already started.

CLAT in Hindi? Delhi HC Mulls Linguistic Change for Level Playing Field.

In a surprising development, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice seeking insights from law universities on the feasibility of conducting the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in Hindi and regional languages.

This pivotal move comes after Sudhanshu Pathak, a Delhi University law student, filed a plea pointing out the unequal footing students from non-English medium schools face.

Although the decision is not final, the committee will work on creating a framework to include Hindi as a medium of the CLAT paper. Their findings will be presented in a report soon.

Yet, despite these discussions, one thing remains certain: the English Language section in CLAT will persist in English. Check how to improve vocabulary in CLAT to boost marks in this section.
