CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is one of India's most sought-after law entrance exams other than Engineering and medicine entrance exams.

Every year, the Consortium of National Law Universities conducts the CLAT exam to provide admission to UG and PG law programs.

December 28, 2022: CLAT 2023 Exam

CLAT 2023 Counselling process started for students whose names appeared in the cut-off list. 

December 23, 2022: CLAT 2023 Exam

CLAT 2023 for UG and PG exams was released for all participants who gave the exam. 

December 22, 2022: CLAT 2023 Exam

The final answer key for CLAT 2023 was released after considering the objections raised by students. 

December 18, 2022: CLAT 2023 Exam

The NLUs successfully conducted CLAT 2023 for admissions into 22 NLUs across the country. 

December 6, 2022: CLAT 2023 Admit Card release 

The NLUs have released the admit card for both UG and PG exams, which will be conducted on December 18, 2022. Download the CLAT Admit Card before December 17, 2022. 

November 13, 2022: CLAT 2023 Application Deadline Extension

The last date for submission of CLAT 2023 online applications (for both U.G. and P.G. programs) has been extended till Friday, 18th November 2022, 11:59 P.M.

31 October 2022: CLAT 2023 will be conducted only ONCE! 

The Consortium of National Law Universities released an official notice on October 31, 2022. The notice stated that the CLAT 2023 UG and PG exams will be conducted only ONCE. i.e., on 18th December 2022. It also announced that CLAT 2024 will be held in December 2023 for admissions to both UG and PG programs. 

08 August 2022: CLAT 2023 Application Window Opened!

The Law Consortium has started the online registration process for the Common Law Admission Test 2023. You can apply for the entrance exam starting on 08 August 2023.

If you are interested in applying for the exam, you must fill out the CLAT Application Form 2023 on or before the deadline to avoid last-minute discrepancies.

24 June 2022: Clat Results Published!

The Consortium published the most-awaited news about the Common Law Admission Test results on the official website.

You can download the CLAT Exam Result 2022 by using your application number and password.

20 June 2022: CLAT Provisional Answer Key Published!

The consortium of NLUs has published the provisional answer key for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) on the official website.

You can download the CLAT provisional answer key from the official website and check your responses against the answer key to know whether you have qualified for the exam or not.

06 June 2022: CLAT Admit Card Released!

The Consortium of National Law Universities has published the Common Law Admission Test admit card on the official website.

You can download the CLAT 2022 Admit Card from the official website by using your E-mail Id and password.

March 14, 2022: CLAT Rescheduled Exam Date Published!

The Consortium of National Law Universities executive committee has rescheduled CLAT 2022 to June 19, 2022, for both UG and PG programs.

Earlier, the exam was scheduled for 08 May 2022. After considering the board exam dates, the committee decided to change the exam date. For more information on CLAT rescheduled exam dates, check the official notification.

March 14, 2022: CLAT Registration Date Extended!

As per the latest notice published by the Law Consortium, the last date for submission of CLAT Application Form 2022 has been extended to May 9, 2022, from March 31, 2022.

Those who have not filled out the registration form yet can now apply by visiting the official website.

November 14, 2021: Two CLAT Exams in the Same Year

  • In the recent reports, Prof. Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Secretary cum Treasurer, The Consortium of National Law Universities, has announced that CLAT 2022 and CLAT 2023 shall be conducted in the same year. 
  • CLAT 2022 will be conducted on May 8, 2022, while CLAT 2023 will be held on December 18, 2022. For more information, check the official notice.

November 14, 2021: Notice Regarding CLAT Counselling Fee

  • The Consortium of National Law Universities has reduced the counselling from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 30,000 for the general category.
  • Those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/BC/EWs/PwD and other reservations have to pay Rs. 20,000 to appear for the CLAT Counselling.

July 28, 2021: Result Announced

The Consortium of NLUs has released the CLAT Result 2021 on the 28th of July on the official website. You can download the scorecard by using your application number and date of birth and check whether you have qualified for the exam or not.

July 26, 2021: Final Answer Key Date Announced

As per the latest announcement made by the CLAT Consortium of NLUs, the final answer key for CLAT 2021 will be declared on 27 July 2021. You can download the answer PDF from the official website using your registration ID and password. For more information, check the Official Notice.

July 18, 2021: The last date to submit the PWD certificate announced

The CLAT Consortium of NLUs announced that PWD category students must mail their disability certificate to the Regional Coordinators office on or before 19 July 2021. Otherwise, they are not allowed to take the CLAT 2021 Exam. For more information, check the official notice.

July 16, 2021: Changes in Exam Centers at Bhubaneshwar

Due to unexpected circumstances, the test cities allotted at Bhubaneshwar have been changed.

The new centers are on the same institute's campus: KIIT, within the range of 1 kilometer. Check new Test Centers for Bhubaneshwar.

July 15, 2021: Admit Card Released for NE Candidates

As informed in the previous notification, the admit card for the North Easter zone is released today. You can download the admit card for NE Region and take a printout without fail. 

July 14, 2021: Notice on JEE Main Exam Date

The Consortium of National Law Universities has released a notice stating that students whose JEE and CLAT 2021 Exam date is clashing can visit the official website to apply for the JEE Main exam date change. For more information, check the official notice.

July 14, 2021: Admit Card for CLAT 2021 Released

The Consortium of NLUs has released the admit card for CLAT 2021 on the official website. You can download the CLAT Admit Card using your registration number and date of birth.

July 02, 2021: Supreme Court Refused NLSIU 25% Quota for Karnataka Students

In the hearing on 2nd July, Supreme Court refused to stay NLSIU Bengaluru's 25% reservation for Karnataka students. Karnataka High Court cancelled the NLSIU Amendment Act, 2020, by which 25% reservation was introduced at the University for students domiciled in the State. June 30, 2021: Updated Exam Centers for CLAT 2021

Considering the situation across the country, the Consortium has announced additional exam centers. You can change your preferences for exam centers before 4th July.

Along with form correction, you can update your test city.

The Consortium of NLUs has opened the form correction window until 4th July. You can edit only a few details like name, date of birth, and reservations. Check Official Notice

June 22, 2021: 25% Seats Reserved for Karnataka Students

NLSIU, Bangalore, has announced that 25% of seats are reserved for Karnataka students to admission to B.A. LLB and LLM programs for the academic year 2021-22. For more information, check the Official Notice.

June 14, 2021: Official Notice on New Exam Date Published

The Consortium of NLUs, after much wait, has announced the exam date for CLAT as July 23, 2021. The exam will be conducted between 2 pm- 4 pm. There is no update on the protocols to be followed or centers for the examination. Read Complete Notice

May 15, 2021: CLAT Exam Postponed

In the recent update by the Consortium of NLUs, the exam is postponed. The last date for registration is also extended till 15th June 2021.

The Executive Committee of Consortium sat on January 06, 2021, to consider rescheduling the exam date to June 13, 2021, since the previous exam date conflicted with the CBSE Exam schedule.

This information about the notice and exam date was publicized and updated on the official website of Consortium on Tuesday. 

December 27, 2020 (10:30 am): CLAT is scheduled in Offline mode.

Due to the crisis and lockdown during the last year, students took the online exam. The exam conducting body introduced the new pattern.

This year, the CLAT Exam Pattern remains similar to what was introduced last year except for the exam mode. This year the exam will be offline.

Frequently Asked Questions

While applying for Law entrance Test, every candidate is required to submit the preference of the National Law Universities. The preference matching to the rank of the candidate is considered while allotting the National Law University. Apart from domicile, gender, caste category is also considered as each NLU has different seat allocation for each category of student.

No, it is actually not important to clear the minimum CLAT cut off for the proceedings of the admission. If any student who fails this step, it will make them uneligible to get admitted in any law school that only accept candidates on the basis of CLAT score.

The Consortium of National Law Universities will release the CLAT 2024 notification officially.
CLAT 2024 is expected to tentatively be conducted in the month of December.
