NICL AO Legal Officer 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the NICL AO Legal Officer 2025 post, candidates must fulfil the following eligibility conditions:

1. Nationality

The applicant must be:

• a citizen of India, or
• a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
• a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
• a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: Candidates under categories (b) to (e) must possess an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

2. Educational Qualification (as on 01.05.2025)

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Law from a recognised university.
• Minimum 60% marks in either of the degree examinations (55% for SC/ST candidates). This qualification is mandatory to be considered for the NICL AO Legal Officer role.
