The CGPSC State Services Exam has three stages:
1. CGPSC Prelims Exam ( Online or offline)
There is two compulsory paper of objective type. The time allotted for the examination is 2 hours each, and paper one is made up of questions based on general topics.
Paper 2 is an aptitude test. Both papers have 2 hours and 100 questions for 200 marks.
2. CGPSC Mains Examination ( Written )
The main exam is made up of seven papers. The type of questions will be based on the conventional (short/medium/long) types.
All the papers will have a time duration of 3 hours and 200 marks each.
3. Interview/ Personality Test
The candidates will appear for the personality test, and they will be selected for the personality test based on marks scored in the Mains exam.
The personal interview test will be 150 marks. The final merit list of the applicants will be based on the total marks scored in the mains exam and personality test.
CGPSC members are appointed or removed by the governor of the state. Their term of service is six years, starting from their appointment date.
