The Symbiosis SET 2024 question paper had 60 MCQs worth 60 marks in 60 minutes across General English (16), Quantitative (16), General Awareness (16) and Analytical & Logical Reasoning (12). There was no negative marking and no sectional time limit. SIU held it as two tests, on 5 May and 11 May 2024, and does not publish the official paper.

1. Symbiosis SET 2024 Quantitative Ability

Quant in the SET 2024 sample question paper set was rated easy to moderate, but two things caught students off guard.

First, Data Interpretation appeared for the first time, contributing roughly 2–4 questions depending on the slot.

Second, a couple of questions (one salary-based problem and one on profit and loss) reportedly had errors in the options, the kind of situation the exam authority typically reviews and corrects during final scoring.

2. Symbiosis SET 2024 English (Verbal Ability) Section

English was the easiest section of the paper; many well-prepared students finished it in just 8–10 minutes.

The questions leaned heavily on grammar mechanics and vocabulary rather than reading comprehension, which rewards students who revise idioms, proverbs, and commonly confused spellings.

3. Symbiosis SET 2024 General Knowledge

GK was the dominating section of the SET 2024 question and answer set the one where scores fluctuated the most and, effectively, where ranks were decided.

With no negative marking, everyone attempted all 16 questions; the difference was accuracy.

Common Mistakes Students Made in SET 2024 Exam

1. Leaving questions blank

With no negative marking, every blank answer in 2024 was a mark voluntarily surrendered. Attempt all 60, always.

2. Over-investing in GK during the exam

GK answers don't improve with staring. Students who spent 15+ minutes on GK ran out of time in Quant.

3. Ignoring DI because "SET doesn't ask DI."

It did in 2024; patterns evolve. Prepare for the paper SET can set, not just the paper it has set.

4. Panicking over flawed questions

 A few Quant questions had option errors. Toppers flagged them mentally, moved on, and trusted the official review process. Check the SET exam answer key process to understand how corrections are handled.

5. Treating Slot 1 and Slot 2 analyses as identical

Difficulty varied across slots; your percentile, not your raw score alone, tells the real story.

Does Symbiosis release the official SET 2024 question paper?

How should I use the SET 2024 paper if I'm appearing in SET 2027?

 Treat it as a diagnostic. The pattern has not changed since 2024, so attempt it timed, tag weak topics, and revise them for two weeks before moving to fresh mocks. Use it early in your preparation, not in the final week.

What does SET 2024 tell us about GK preparation?

Static GK mattered more than current affairs, at roughly 11 questions to 5. Build static GK steadily through the year using a single reliable source, and add current affairs from the last 6–8 months closer to the exam.

Were there errors in the SET 2024 question paper?

 Some students reported that one or two Quant options looked confusing. SIU did not publicly confirm any errors. In the exam, the right response to a doubtful question is the same either way: mark your best answer, flag it and move on.

How was SET 2024 different from previous years?

The four-section, 60-question pattern was the same as SET 2023. The main difference students noticed was a few short data-interpretation questions in Quant. Overall difficulty stayed easy to moderate.

What is the best attempt strategy for a 60-minute paper with no negative marking?

Attempt all 60. Solve English and LR first to bank marks quickly, spend the most time on Quant, keep GK under 10 minutes, and use the last 3–5 minutes to fill any blanks with your best guess.

What SET score do I need for SCMS Pune?

Symbiosis does not publish official cut-offs. Student-reported data suggests a score of around 50+ out of 60 was competitive for SCMS Pune shortlisting in 2024. A shortlist leads to a Personal Interaction, so your PI performance also matters.

Is SET easier than IPMAT?
