The exam is an annual entrance test for admission to India's top-ranked CUET universities such as DU, JNU, BHU, JMI etc. It will be conducted both online and offline. Thus, the schedule for these two modes of conduct is called phases, as the exam is conducted separately for 63 subjects.

In previous years, the exam was conducted only online. However, as the CUET exam pattern has been revised, a hybrid mode has been adopted to streamline the process and provide students with equal opportunity.
