What is NMAT Exam?

Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is a Computer Adaptive Test conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) for admissions to some of the leading graduate business programs in emerging markets, including India, South Africa, Philippines, Nigeria, and Morocco.

Being the most candidate-friendly MBA admissions exam, it offers the convenience and flexibility to choose dates as per convenience & improve scores with three attempts in a testing cycle.

NMAT Notification 2024: Overview 

NMAT notification updates -

• NMAT by GMAC^TM is a Computer Adaptive Test through which a candidate's ability is estimated successively based on the responses to the questions administered, which are tailored to the candidate’s current ability estimate. 
• Candidates can attempt the exam a maximum of 3 times during the 70-day-long test-taking window. The next date can only be scheduled after the first paper has been attempted. 
• NMAT's testing window allows the candidate to select a preferred test date at both test centers (India only) or online from home.
• Test centres are available in 70+ cities in India, and unofficial scores are available immediately at both test centers and online. 
• All three sections in NMAT by GMAC^TM carry equal weightage and there is no negative marking involved for incorrect answers. 
• Each year NMAT exam syllabus is designed by GMAC. The NMAT syllabus 2024 is the same as the previous year, comprising 108 questions and three sections

NMAT Exam Notification 2024: Eligibility

No specific eligibility criteria to appear for NMAT 2024 by GMAC^TM have been mentioned. The NMAT eligibility criteria depend upon the application/admission eligibility criteria of the respective B-school. Listed below are some basic parameters: 

• A 3-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline. 
• The minimum percentage of marks or equivalent CGPA in graduation should be as per the requirement of the MBA college accepting NMAT scores. 
• Candidates in the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply. They will need to present the passing certificate later at the time of admission. 
• Candidates who have completed a professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) or are awaiting results can also apply. 
• No age bar to apply for NMAT by GMAC^TM. 
• Mere fulfillment of minimum NMAT 2024 eligibility criteria does not ensure consideration for shortlisting by the B-school applied for.

NMAT Notification 2024: Registration Process 

Registering for the NMAT by GMAC exam is straightforward and user-friendly. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Begin by visiting mba.com/nmat and click on 'Register for NMAT by GMAC™'. Create an account using a valid email address.
2. Proceed by filling in the remaining details under the 'Manage NMAT Profile' section.
3. Look out for a verification email in your inbox. Follow the instructions included in the email to verify your mba.com account. Don't forget to check your spam or junk folders if you don't see it in your inbox. If necessary, log into your mba.com account and click on the 'Resend Email Verification' button found on the 'My Account' page.
4. Log into your mba.com account and go to the 'My Account' page. From there, access the 'Candidate Dashboard'.
5. Fill out the application form located in the 'Candidate Dashboard'. Please note that your name and date of birth must match exactly with those on your Photo ID.
6. Choose the schools to which you would like your scores to be sent in the 'School Preferences' section. Your registration fee covers up to 5 programs. Additional score reports can be sent for a supplementary fee of INR 300 plus applicable taxes.
7. You're required to upload a photograph that closely resembles you and the photograph on your Photo ID. This image will be included on the admit card that you will need to present to the test centre administrator or to the online proctor.
8. Finally, proceed with the payment for the NMAT registration fees.

NMAT Notification 2024 – Test Fee

The NMAT by GMAC™ exam registration and the school application process are two separate steps. Candidates should frequently review university/b-school program eligibility criteria and the admission process to ensure information about requirements and any changes regarding the acceptance of the NMAT by GMACTM scores. Test Fees 

• Test Registration: INR 2800 + applicable taxes 
• Retake: INR 2800 + applicable taxes 
• Additional Score Reports (beyond first five): INR 300 per Score Report + applicable taxes 
• Reschedule: INR 1200 + applicable taxes 

Schedule the NMAT Exam 2024

1. After registering and paying for the exam, you can schedule your exam from your Candidate Dashboard. Exam appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. 
2. Select the exam mode you want: test centre or online proctored at home. 

Note: Once you have booked an appointment, you cannot change your exam mode for that appointment. However, you can select a different exam mode when you schedule another attempt. 

For example: If you scheduled an exam at a test centre, you can’t reschedule that exam as an online proctored at-home appointment and vice-versa. However, you can select a different exam mode when you schedule a retake. 

Schedule at a Test Center (applicable for India only) 

1. Click on the Book Exam button to reach the scheduling system. 
2. Choose the Country and City and Test Centre, and choose the date and time when you would like to take the exam.

Schedule Online Proctored Test at Home (applicable for India and the rest of the world) 

1. Click on the Book Exam button to reach the scheduling system. 
2. The first step shall be to fill out the My Profile section before moving on to the Scheduling exam appointment. 
3. Users can set up their photo identification by uploading an approved list of ID(s). This ID must be uploaded for verification purposes. The following instructions are provided to the user. 
4. Take a picture of your photo ID using a smartphone or camera, or webcam on your PC. 
5. Save the image of the picture to your PC. 
6. Upload the image from your PC to the exam scheduling system. 
7. Users can select from an available list of security questions to set up three security questions. 
8. The system will prompt you to answer 1 of these security questions during your authentication process when you log in to take the exam, so please remember or note down your responses. 

NMAT Exam Appointment 

Please select the date and correct time zone to schedule the exam because the ‘Begin Test’ button will be enabled at the time chosen by you. 

Candidates in India should choose the time zone - (UTC+05:30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi. 

The user enters first name, last name, first name and last name and re-enters first name and last name. 

No spaces or capital letters are to be used while entering this information. The system will save the keystroke entry of the data that is entered, and this will be used as part of the authentication process when you log in to take the exam. 

If the user fails to successfully enter information three times, a red flag is raised. 

You will be able to download your admit card from your dashboard once the payment is realized.

Exam Retakes 

• You will be allowed to take the NMAT by GMAC™ exam a maximum of three times during the year’s testing cycle. This includes the first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts. No-shows are considered attempts. 
• Your retake registration option will be enabled in your dashboard after your exam date. You need to register for the retake by simply clicking on the Retake section, selecting the exam mode and paying the retake fees. 
• Please note retakes can be scheduled after the completion of a scheduled attempt, and the retake exam can only be taken after a gap of 15 days from the previous attempt. 
• In case you were a NO SHOW, or you did not agree to the non-disclosure agreement by accepting NDA, or your exam has been marked as Incomplete, then you can schedule the Retake attempt immediately for any slot after 24 hours. 
• Retake attempt scheduling at Test Center and Online follows the same process as scheduling.
