BPSC Judicial Services Eligibility Criteria 2021

  • Educational Qualification: You must have a Bachelor of Laws from any institute or university recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Bihar Judiciary Sevices Age Limit: The minimum age is 22 years while the maximum age allowed for the exam is 35 years. For women, physically disabled the age limit is extended to 40 years of maximum age.

BPSC Judiciary Exam Pattern 2021

The Bihar Judiciary Exam Pattern includes two written tests and an interview round which are explained below:

Prelims Exam Pattern

  • The Preliminary round of Bihar Judicial Services consists of two papers; Paper 1: General Studies and Paper 2: Law. 
  • Paper 1 consists of topics ranging from Current Affairs to Social Sciences. Paper 1 will be 100 marks.
  • For Paper 2 you must be thorough with the law in India and across the globe. The marks assigned to this paper are 150 marks.

Bihar Judiciary Mains Exam Pattern 2021

  • In Bihar Judicial Services Main Exams there are five subjects- General Knowledge with Current Affairs, Elementary General Science, General Hindi, General English, Law of Evidence, and Procedure. 
  • Note that the General Hindi and General English papers are qualifying in nature. You must obtain a minimum of 30 marks on these papers to qualify for Interview. The marks of these two papers will not be considered for the final merit list.

For Mains Exam, you will be asked to choose 3 subjects out of the following five optional subjects:

  • Constitution and Administrative Law of India - 150 marks
  • Hindu Law and Muhammadan Law - 150 marks
  • Law of Transfer of Property and Principle of Equity, Law of Trust and Specific Relief - 150 marks
  • Law of Contract and Torts - 150 marks

BPSC Judicial Services Interview Process 2021

  • After qualifying in both Prelims and Mains, you will be called for the final round of examination, i.e. Personal Interview round. You need to score a minimum of 35% marks in the interview to make it to the final merit list.
