Madhya Pradesh High Court has prescribed specific criteria for the Madhya Pradesh Judicial Services Exam, which is conducted annually to fill various civil judge posts. As per the MPCJ official notification, your online application can be processed only if you satisfy the eligibility criteria set by the exam conducting body.

The MP Judiciary Eligibility Criteria are categorized into factors such as educational qualification, age limit, Nationality and character.

MP Judiciary Age Limit 2026

You are eligible for the MP Judiciary Exam 2026 only if you satisfy the age limit criteria prescribed by the exam conducting body. Otherwise, your candidature will be cancelled.

• According to the official notification, your minimum age should be 21 years as of 01 January 2026.
• The maximum age limit to apply for the exam is 35 years.
• You can also apply for the exam if you work as a permanent or temporary MP Administrative Cadre. However, your MP Judiciary age limit should be between 21-38 years.

MP eligibility criteria: Latest Update in Qualification Requirement

• To apply for the Madhya Pradesh Civil Judge exam, you must have completed your graduation in Law from a recognized university.
• Also, you must have passed your final year examination before the Interview round to be eligible for the exam.
• You must have engaged in continuous practice as an Advocate for a minimum of three years on the last date fixed for the submission of the application.
• For the Preliminary Examination, the minimum qualifying marks have been reduced  for General category and OBC category from 60% to 45% and for SC/ST category from 55% to 40%.    
• For the Mains Examination, the minimum criteria for General category and OBC has been reduced from 50% in aggregate to 45% and for SC/ST category has been reduced from 45% in aggregate to 40%.        
• The minimum qualifying marks of 40% previously required for the interview has been omitted.

MP Judiciary Exam Eligibility Criteria Relaxed: HC Allows Candidates with Less Than Six Court Appearances to Apply

• Now, if you are a practising advocate, you don't have to generate a certificate of continuous practice. 
• This is in context to a recent advertisement requiring lawyers to have at least 6 vakalat namas per year in orders or judgements to be eligible for the post of Civil Judge.
• The latest ruling suggests this requirement might not be strictly enforced if the candidate can prove continuous practice.

You can apply for the MP Judicial Services Exam only if you fit the below-mentioned criteria:

• The one who has more than two children, one of whom is born on or after the 25th day of January 2001, but shall not be disqualified if two or more children are born in subsequent delivery with one child alive
