The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has released its detailed notification for the IFSCA Grade A Officer recruitment 2025. The IFSCA recruitment for Grade A Officer (Assistant Manager) announced a total of 20 vacancies across three streams for 2025.

Dual Application Opportunity for Law Graduates

Eligibility Criteria for IFSCA Law Officer 2025

To qualify for the IFSCA Law Officer position, candidates must meet specific requirements as of September 25, 2025: 

  1. Educational Qualification (Legal Stream): A Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized University or Institute is mandatory. Freshers are eligible, as there is no specific post-educational qualification experience required. 
  2. Minimum Marks: Candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their Bachelor's degree in Law. 
  3. Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 30 years as of September 25, 2025. (Relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC categories apply).

The IFSCA Law Officer selection process involves three phases: Phase I (Screening Test), Phase II (Online Exam/Mains), and Phase III (Interview).

IFSCA Grade A Legal Officer Exam Pattern And Selection Process

The final selection and merit list for IFSCA Law Officer will be based solely on the scores from Phase II (Mains) and Phase III (Interview). The Phase I exam is purely qualifying in nature. 

Phase I (Online Screening Test) 

Phase I consists of two papers, each lasting 60 minutes. Both papers include negative marking of 1/4th

Phase II (Online Examination/Mains) 

Phase II also has two papers, totaling 200 marks. Candidates need an aggregate cut-off of 40% in Phase II to be called for the interview.

English Descriptive Test (100 Marks). 

Includes Precis Writing (35 marks), Essay Writing (30 marks), and Comprehension (35 marks). This paper has a 1/3rd weightage in the Phase II aggregate. 

Paper II (Legal Stream) 

MCQs on Specialized Law Subjects. 

50 questions totaling 100 marks (2 marks each). This paper has a 2/3rd weightage in the Phase II aggregate. 1/4th negative marking applies

Phase III (Interview) 

The final selection merit list is based on the weighted scores from the Mains (Phase II) and the Interview (Phase III). The weightage is 85% for Phase II and 15% for the Interview

What is the IFSCA Law Officer Syllabus? 

The syllabus for Phase I and Phase II of the Legal Stream is entirely separate; there is no similarity between the acts prescribed for Phase I and Phase II.
