Sagarmala funds flagship project of Ro Pax Ferry Service in Gulf of Cambay, Gujarat
As part of promoting coastal shipping in the country under Sagarmala programme, the Ministry of Shipping has sanctioned the Capital Dredging Project for Ro Pax Ferry Services between Gogha & Dahej, in Gulf of Cambay in Gujarat.
● The Ministry released Rs 58.50 Crore as first installment of grant-in–aid to Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB).
● The total project cost is estimated to be Rs 234 Crore and of which 50% will be funded by Centre Government under the Sagarmala programme.
● The project would result in reduction in motorable distance of 231 kms between Gogha & Dahej to mere 31 kms and reduce the travel time from 7 hours to 1 hour.
● The initiative would not only reduce the travel time but also result in savings in fuel, reduction in CO2 emission and reduction in road congestion.
● It is one of the flagship projects under Sagarmala which aims to increase share of waterways transportation in modal mix to 10 per cent from present level of 7 per cent by year 2025.

पोत परिवहन मंत्रालय ने बंदरगाहों को जोड़ने की अपनी महत्वाकांक्षी सागरमाला परियोजना के तहत गुजरात के गोघा से दाहेज तक सड़क परियोजना के लिए 59 करोड़ रुपये जारी किए हैं ।
● मंत्रालय की आज यहां जारी विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार इस परियेाजना के लिए पहली किस्त के तहत 58.50 करोड़ रुपए जारी किए गए हैं। परियोजना पर कुल 234 करोड़ रुपए खर्च आने का अनुमान है।
● परियोजना पूरा होने बाद 231 किलोमीटर की दूरी सिर्फ 31 किलोमीटर रह जाएगी इससे 7 घंटे की दूरी सिर्फ 1 घंटे में पूरी की जा पाएगी।
● पहल केवल यात्रा के समय को कम नहीं करेगा, लेकिन यह ईंधन में भी बचत करेगा, कार्बन डाइऑक्साइड उत्सर्जन को रोकेगा और सड़क पर भीड़ में भी कमी आएगी ।
● सागरमाला फ्लैगशिप परियोजना 2025 तक 7 प्रतिशत तक पूरा हो जाएगा , हालांकि इसे 10 फीसदी पूरा हो जाना चाहिए ।
