PM Modi laid foundation stone of Cancer Center in Varanasi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 December 2016 laid the foundation stone of a Madan Mohan Malviya Cancer Center in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The dedicated cancer centre will be built at an expense of Rs 500 crore.
● After laying the foundation stone of the cancer centre, Modi said that the role of technology in medical science has increased and that’s why his government is making all efforts to provide best medical facilities across India. This is a time when quality and affordable healthcare should be provided to people, especially the poor.
● Modi was on a one-day visit to his Parliamentary constituency Varanasi. During this visit, he also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several other projects in the temple town.
● He laid the foundation of super speciality block of Institute of Medical Science of BHU.
● He attended a cultural event being organised under Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav from BHU premises.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 22 दिसंबर 2016 को वाराणसी में कैंसर केंद्र और सुपरस्पेशियलिटी अस्पताल की आधारशिला रखी. कैंसर केंद्र का निर्माण 500 करोड़ रुपये के बजट में पूरा होगा.
● इस दौरान प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कबीर नगर क्षेत्र का दौरा किया तथा ऐतिहासिक इमारतों पर रोशनी किये जाने के काम का निरीक्षण भी किया.
● कैंसर केंद्र की स्थापना किये जाने के बाद मोदी ने कहा कि मेडिकल विज्ञान क्षेत्र में तकनीक का योगदान पहले से काफी बढ़ा है और इसीलिए उनकी सरकार भारत में अत्याधुनिक सुविधाएं देने के लिए पूरे देश में प्रयासरत है.
● प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने बनारस हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय के स्वतंत्र भवन का दौरा किया.
● उन्होंने बीएचयू के मेडिकल साइंस इंस्टिट्यूट में सुपर स्पेशलिटी ब्लॉक की आधारशिला रखी.
● इस दौरान उन्होंने बीएचयू में आयोजित राष्ट्रीय संस्कृति महोत्सव में भी भाग लिया.
● बीएचयू में इस भ्रमण के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री ने लोगों से डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था की ओर रुख करने के लिए अपील की.
● उन्होंने कहा कि लोगों की डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था में अधिक से अधिक भागीदारी से सरकार काले धन पर रोक लगा सकेगी.
