The President received special edition of 'Think India' magazine centered on Deendayal Upadhyay


●        President Shri Ram Nath Kovind received a special edition of 'Think India' magazine dedicated to philosopher-politician Deendayal Upadhyay in the Rashtrapati Bhavan today (April 2, 2018).
●        Editor of Special Edition and Member of Parliament, Shri D.P. In the presence of Tripathi, Member of Parliament, Mr. Murli Manohar Joshi presented a copy of the special edition to the President.
●        On this occasion Member of Parliament Mr. Shashi Tharoor, former Member of Parliament Mr. Pawan Verma and other dignitaries were present.

Former Guatemala dictator Euren Rios Montt passes away
 
●        Former Guatemala dictator Euren Rios Montt of Guatemala died on 01 April 2018. He was 91 years old.
●        They are facing lawsuits against Guatemala and governing the former Massacre between the year 1982 and the year 1983.
●        They were accused of killing 1771 Swadeshi Eixil-Maya people during their small reign.
●        He was sentenced to 80 years in a 2013 trial.
 

India Post Payment Bank becomes the largest payment bank in the country
 
●        In India, the Post Office Payment Bank has started its services from 1st April, 2018. \
●        It will be known as India Post Payment Bank and it will be the largest payment bank network in the country.
●        This payment bank has been opened in all the post offices in the country and by this the various facilities will be provided to the citizens for free.
●        There are 1.55 lakh post offices in the country, in which 650 payment banks will assist these post offices.

●        Scientists have discovered a new organ 'interstitium' in the human body.
●        Scientists hope that with the help of this new discovery, cancer can be easily understood in the human body.
●        The article about the new organ of human body has been published in the Scientific Reports Journal.

Ayurveda Future Group to launch personal care products
 
●        Seeing the success of Patanjali Ayurveda, the Future Group is also preparing to enter the Ayurvedic Personal Care Products market.
●        Future Group CEO Kishore Biyani told ET that he is also considering buying other companies to increase presence in this segment.
●        Future Consumer will soon launch Ayurvedic Hair Oil and other beauty products.
●        In FY08, the group's FMCG business is expected to reach Rs 3,500 crore, which was Rs 1,645 crore in 2017.

Total refund of Rs. 17,616 crores issued under GST


●        In line with the commitment of the government to pay all outstanding GST refunds, the central indirect taxes and customs boards (CBIC) have successfully completed the Refund Pakkhada Co-Exclusive Mission from March 15, 2018 to March 31, 2018.
●        During this period, all the regional constructions of the CBIC worked hard to provide refund relief to the exporters.
●        A special refund cell built with experienced staff across the country was established.
 

E-way bill system was implemented in India
 
●        The electronic bill (e-way bill) system introduced under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system has been implemented in the country from 01 April 2018.
●        The Ministry of Finance has clarified that the validity period of e-bill will be counted from the transporter's side on the first day of filing of the returns in the GST form.
●        At present, the e-way bill system has been implemented for transporting goods worth more than Rs. 50,000 from road, rail, air or waterways to one state.

●        Mr. Mohammad Mustafa, Chairman and Managing Director, SIDBI, launched several initiatives from his bank headquarters in Lucknow.
●        He said that it is an opportunity to peep into its core and to renew its strategy for right direction and development.

World Autism Awareness Day was celebrated
 
●        International Autism Awareness Day was observed on 02 April 2018 worldwide.
●        The theme of this year - empower women and girls suffering from autism.
●        This is an international day in which UN member states are encouraged to fight autism and to diagnose it.
●        On this day steps are taken to improve the lives of the children and the elderly, who are autism and help them to live a meaningful life. Blue is considered a symbol of autism.

Ram Nath Kovind today gave Padma awards to 43 honored persons


●        President Shri Ram Nath Kovind presented Padma awards to the second group of 43 persons at a function organized in Rashtrapati Bhavan today.
●        The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh had organized a dinner in honor of the award winners yesterday.
●        He said that the country is proud of all the recipients of the Padma Awards, because they have a significant contribution in the development of the country.
●        While congratulating the winners, he said that his selfless service was recognized locally at this time.

'Roopshri Yojana' started in West Bengal


●        The West Bengal Government has announced the launch of the Ruposhri Yojana after Kanyashree.
●        The objective of this ambitious plan is to marry the women of financially vulnerable families.
●        This scheme has come into effect from April 1, 2018.
●        The beneficiaries of this scheme will get financial help of Rs. 25,000 each for marriage.
●        This financial assistance will be given to the families whose annual income is up to 1.5 lakh rupees.

Santosh Trophy 2018: Kerala beat Bengal by winning the title
 
●        Kerala won the title for Santosh Trophy by defeating last champion West Bengal 4-2 in the penalty shootout finals of the 72nd national football championship.
●        After the scheduled and extra time both teams were equal to 2-2, after which the penalty shootout was taken for the result.
●        This is the sixth Santosh Trophy title of Kerala which she won after 13 years.

NASA launches 'Insight Mission' for the study of Mars
 
●        American Space Agency NASA launches mission to study the inner surface of Mars
●        This will be NASA's first study campaign to be on the surface of Mars.
●        Insight will be NASA's first mission after the Apollo mission sent to the moon.
●        It's a program to send to Mars on May 5.
●        It will set up the machine made to measure the earthquake on another planet's ground.

Pakistan test submarine cruise missile 'Babur'
 
●        Pakistan successfully tested the cruise missile 'Babur', which was launched on 29 March 2018, from home-made Submarine-launched cruise missile. The missile capability of this missile is 450 kilometers.
●        It is being seen as a historical step towards Pakistan towards strengthening the credible policy through indigenization and self-reliance.
●        This missile was released from the dynamic platform underwater.
●        The missile managed to break the target with accuracy at a fixed distance.
 

 Egypt's President won again
 
●        Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has been elected for a second term with heavy votes. In the elections, he got a total of 97.08 percent of the votes.
●        The National Electoral Authority announced the election of Al-CC on Monday.
●        Although the victory of Al-CC was almost certain, because his opponent Musa Mustafa had already supported him.
●        There is no longer any opposition in this country.
 
Nelson Mandela's ex-wife Winnie Mandela passed away


●        Nelson Mandela's ex-wife Winnie Mandela , the leader of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa , passed away on Monday at 81 years of age .
●        In a statement issued by his spokesman Victor Dlamini, it was told that Winney, who has been sick for a long time, suffers in a hospital in Johannesburg.
●        Winnie Mandela married Nelson Mandela 38 years ago.
