Death penalty can not be compensated below life imprisonment: Supreme Court


●        In a recent judgment, the Supreme Court said that in the murder case less punishment than life sentence is illegal and is out of the purview of law.
●        The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's decision to convert the 10-year sentence to life imprisonment by justifying the remarks.

Announcement of introduction of Horticulture Excellence Center in every district of Haryana
 
●        The Haryana Government has started a new scheme to increase the income of the farmers and to increase the variety of crops by 2030, in order to double the production of horticulture crops in the form of 'horticulture village'.
●        A new initiative has been initiated to develop 340 villages of the state as a horticulture village and under the Golden Jubilee scheme, crop group development program has been started.

More Strictness on the merchants who sell more than the MRP
 
●        More than the maximum retail price (MRP), the Government is preparing to tighten and sell the goods.
●        Recently there was a meeting about rising complaints.
●        In this, it has been considered to increase the penalty and more time for punishment.
●        If the Consumer Ministry accepts the proposal, then more than the MRP , those who sell the goods will have to pay a fine of Rs five lakh and they can also be jailed for up to two years.


Supreme court: ordinances of Khap Panchayats against marriage is illegal
 
●        On Tuesday, the Supreme Court has given a historic order that the verdict of Khap Panchayats on marriage is illegal.
●        The Supreme Court said that if two adults are marrying themselves, no one can interfere in it.
●        The Supreme Court has also said that this order will remain effective till the Central Government takes the law on this issue.


Government will give exemption to foreign tourists to promote Arunachal tourism
 
●        The Central Government is contemplating to change the rules of entry only on 'permission to safe areas' with the objective of promoting tourism.
●        Arunachal Pradesh will be the first state in the North East, which will benefit from this discount.
●        Simultaneously, the government is planning to give similar exemption in Sikkim and Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir.

Use of toilets in rural areas more than 93%: Independent survey confirmation


●        In the National Annual Rural Sanitation Survey 2017-18, conducted by the Independent Survey Agency under World Bank-enabled Swachh Bharat Mission Project, the use of toilets in rural areas has been confirmed by 93.4%.
●        That is, 93.4% of those homes which have toilets are also used.
●        The villages which have been declared open and proved free from defecation in the open, the independent survey agency has also confirmed that 95.6% of them have open defecation in the open of villages.

Meeting of joint economic group between India and China concludes in New Delhi

●        The United States has ordered the closure of Russia's Consulate in Seattle.
●        U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the removal of 60 Russian diplomats, which is currently the biggest step against Russia.

●        Forbes has released its '30 Under 30 Asia ' list.

JSW Steel to invest $ 500 million in USA
