Approval of establishment of National Financial Information Authority


●        The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal of the National Financial Information Authority (NFRA) and a post of Chairman for NFRA, three posts of full-time members and one post of Secretary for NFRA.
●        The objective of this decision is to establish NFRA as an independent regulator for the audit work, which is one of the changes brought by the Companies Act, 2013.
●        This provision was included in the specific recommendations of the Standing Committee on Finance (its 21st Report).
 
 Approval of Bhagora Economic Offenses Bill, 2018
 
●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Cabinet has given permission to the Finance Ministry's proposal to keep the Fifa Economic Offenses Bill, 2018 in Parliament.
●        In this bill, it will help in resolving the tendency of economic criminals to avoid Indian legal process, staying out of the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
●        In such crimes, such crimes of Rs. 100 crores or more will come under the jurisdiction of this bill.


On the 42nd Civil Accounting Day, the Finance Minister inaugurated the GPF and EPFO module.


●        Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Arun Jaitley today said that the government's commitment to its accounting system should never raise any question.
●        During the inaugural speech on the 42nd Civil Account Day celebration in the national capital today, the Finance Minister said that while the government department can work with sufficient purity, the accounting department is such that no mistake can be accepted as a small mistake can leave a deep impression is.
●        He further said that the accounting should be free of mistake as the government makes the nation aware of the situation of public finance.

National Highway Authority will deploy women on toll centers on the occasion of International Women's Day


●        Indian National Highway Authority on March 8, 2018, on the occasion of International Women's Day, women will be deployed for toll collection in at least one toll plaza located near the cities in each State and Union Territory.
●        All workers of such toll plaza will be women.
●        If this initiative is successful, then this system will be implemented in all Toll Centers operating in NHAI in the next three months.
●        In this regard, information has been given to the regional offices.
 
 Model Forensic Laboratory will be established in Chandigarh
 
●        A Model Forensic Science Laboratory will be established in Chandigarh with advanced infrastructure and modern machines.
●        There are currently 6 Central Forensic Laboratories (Chandigarh, Guwahati, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune and Bhopal) in the country and each State / Union Territory has one state forensic laboratory.
●        In these same laboratories, there is a forensic examination of cases related to sexual harassment and murder across the country.
●        For this financial investment of Rs 99.76 crore has been set.

No more MDR charge 


●        Railways have announced relief for customers booking tickets with the help of debit card .
●        Under the latest decision, the merchant discount rate will not be charged on ticket booking with debit card.
●        This arrangement will be applicable to those who purchase tickets through the counter and also buy tickets through the IRCTC website.
●        Railways say that this will boost digital and cashless transactions.

Karnataka beat Saurashtra to win Vijay Hazare Trophy for the third time


●        Karnataka defeated Saurashtra by 41 runs in the final match played in New Delhi on 27th February, 2018 and won the Vijay Hazare Trophy National ODI Championship for the third time.
●        The 27-year-old batsman, who scored 1160 runs in the Ranji Trophy in this session, made an incredible 90-over knock.

●        Wipro's Cloud Unit Appirio CEO Chris Barbin has been appointed as Global Culture Officer of India's third largest IT services firm.
●        Wipro Chief Executive Officer Abidali Neim Chawla wants to change the attitude of the company between the changes in technology and want to increase the business at a fast pace.
●        Under his strategy, the new responsibility has been given to Barbin.
●        Wipro is the first IT company in which such a post has been created.

Pakistan joins list of pro-terror countries


●        Pakistan has again been included in the list of countries that help the terrorist countries.
●        After this action, banking transactions from other countries will end, which will affect its economy.
●        This gray-list of Force Terror Action Financing Watchlist (FATF) will be released in June.
 
North Korea is providing chemical weapons to Syria
 
●        North Korea is providing the necessary material for chemical weapons in Syria.
●        Some missile scientists from Pyongyang were also there in 2016-17.

●        This has been claimed in a report by the United Nations.

Western Naval Command completed West Lehrer (XPL-18) practice


●        The Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy completed a huge strategic exercise in the Arabian Sea.
●        During the three-week-long exercise 'Western Lehrer' (XPL), the test of the strategic preparation of the Western Naval Command and its operational plans was executed.

●        The Minister of State for Defense, Dr. Subhash Bhamre inaugurated the one-day annual seminar 2017-18 at Manekshaw Center here today.
●        This seminar was organized on 'Army's contribution towards nation building'.
●        The purpose of this seminar was to highlight the contribution of Indian Army towards nation building and to identify areas for future participation. 
 
Defense Exhibition 2018 in Chennai
 
●        In the last 10 years, the Indian Defense Exhibition has become a unique example among the world's largest programs of its kind.
●        The Defense Exhibition is being organized in Chennai from April 11 to April 2018 and this program is getting vigorous support.
●        The venue of this program is Thiruvidanthai, District Kanchipuram on East Coast Road near Chennai.

Economy 
Central Board of Direct Taxes achieves significant APA tax of 200 APAs
●        The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) did seven more advance pricing contracts (APAs) during February, 2018.
●        All seven unilateral advance price contracts are there.
●        By signing these contracts, the Central Board of Direct Taxes has achieved a huge achievement of signing 200 APAs.
●        The total number of APAs signed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes has so far reached 203.
 
Overall 33% marks required to pass in 10th
 
●        The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced relief for students joining the 10th Board Examinations this year.
●        According to the declaration made by CBSE, the total number to be earned for passing 10 th board has been changed.
●        Under the new rules of CBSE, students will now have to bring together 33% of the marks and, most importantly, the internal assessment marks will also be added.
●        This rule will apply to students of the batch 2017-18.

 
PayTM has 40% stake in UPA Transactions
 
●        The strong growth of the Unified Payments interface continues.
●        In February, its transparency increased by 13.5% to 17.14 crore.
●        In January this figure was 15.1 million.
●        Patiala claims that in February it has 6.8 crore transactions on the UPA.
●        In this regard, PayTM's share in total transactions stood at around 40%.
