Vice President appeals to increase investment in agriculture

●        Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has suggested to the Center and various State Governments to increase the investment in agriculture and allied sectors so that the agriculture can become viable and attractive.
●        He was speaking to scientists, faculty members and research fellow at the National Agricultural Extension Management Institute (MAANGE) in Hyderabad today.
●        On this occasion Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mr. Muhammad Mahmood Ali and other dignitaries were also present.
 
Prime Minister dedicates Kishanganga hydroelectric power to the nation

●        Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today dedicated Kishanganga hydroelectric power to the nation at a ceremony in Srinagar.
●        He also laid the foundation stone of Srinagar Ring Road.
●        While addressing the masses, the Prime Minister recalled the various occasions during the last four years when he visited the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
 
IGNCA will organize Child Drama Workshop from 21st May to 21st of June.

●        The Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts (IGNCA) will organize a Children's Drama and Personality Development Workshop in partnership with Flight Drama Arts and Child Development Center from 21st May to 21st June 2018.
●        In this workshop, the children will be trained to increase their basic skills and dramatic skills.

'Green Good Deeds' started by Dr Harshwardhan received global recognition

●        Green Good Deeds has got the approval of the global community by the Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, to promote the environment and to promote good living.
●        At present, in the 4th BRICS Ministerial Meeting held in Durban, South Africa, Dr. Harshavardhan urged BRICS countries to jointly help in the development of a social movement to fight for the protection and protection of the environment.

New railway website will now refund counter ticket
●        If you have applied for a railway ticket refund , you will not need to go to the railway counters for the updated status.
●        You can get the latest refund information from the PNR number of the ticket.
●        This will show whether the refund is approved or not, and if it is done, the check or draft is ready or not, or it has been sent to your address.
 

Legal rights will be given to investors to bring foreign capital
●        India is working on such a framework, which will give a legal support to the Stable Foreign Investment Regime in the country.
●   This step will help in bringing more capital to the country.
●  The government believes that more foreign capital will be helpful in increasing employment opportunities and accelerating economic growth.
 
Government will help 11 public banks held in RBI's monitoring list
●        Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday assured all possible assistance for the strengthening of 11 public banks held under the immediate remedial action mechanism (PCA) of the Reserve Bank of India.
●        The central bank has kept them in the surveillance list to check the worsening financial health.
●        Under the PCA arrangement, banks have to face the restriction of distributing dividends and sending profit out of the bank.

●        IRCTC has offered an offer of Rs 540 for the Agra tour.
●        IRCTC has given information about these offers on their website, which can be taken as per their requirement.
●        According to IRCTC, if you take package of three people, then it will be 1620 rupees.
●        Not only this, in the name of the Half De Agra Tour, you will also get the facility of cab to take and leave from the railway station.
●        If you take a package of 2 people, then the price will be Rs 810 per person.
●        If you take the package alone, then you have to give only 1620 rupees.
 
 
BS Yeddyurappa resigns as Chief Minister of Karnataka
●        BS Yeddyurappa resigned from his post on May 19, 2018, two days after taking oath as Karnataka Chief Minister.
●        In the House, BJP did not have enough number of votes for the majority.
●        He left the post of CM for the third time.
●        This time his tenure remained only two and a half days.
●        The total period of his two previous tenures was three years and 71 days.
 
 
Tata Steel acquires Bhushan Steel
●        Bamnipal Steel Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, has completed the acquisition of 72.65 per cent stake of Bhushan Steel Limited in May 18, 2018, under the bankruptcy act.
●        Tata Steel Limited had successfully billed the auction held for the Bhushan Steel Limited, trapped in debt.
 
 
Environment Ministry constitutes 19 teams for cleaning beaches and river banks
●        Keeping in mind the World Environment Day, 2018, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has formed 19 teams for cleaning the coastal areas, river banks and lakes.
●        Under this, 24 coastal coasts of 9 coastal states and 24 river banks of 19 states will be cleared.
●        In addition to the rivers listed, a special cleaning campaign will be run in Delhi to clean Yamuna river banks.
●        Some lakes and water bodies have also been identified for cleaning.

300 million LED bulbs distributed under Ujala plan
●        Public Sector Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) has distributed more than 300 million LED bulbs under the Ujala (Advanced Jyoti Bai Affordable LED Bulb For All) program.
●        Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme in January 2015 and it is currently the world's largest LED distribution program.

Patanjali Ayurveda targets 20,000 crores profit
 
●        Yoga Guru Ramdev, the brand ambassador of Patanjali Ayurveda, has targeted the company's annual earnings of 20,000 crores.
●        Patanjali, who started with a small pharmacy company, has now overturned FMCG well-known brands.
●        In 2016-17, its revenues crossed 10,000, while it was 500 million 6 years ago.
 

10 agreements signed between Haryana and UK
●        During the UK tour of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, 10 MoUs (MoUs) were signed.
●        These MoUs are estimated to invest about 1500 crore in the state and direct employment to one thousand people.
●        MOU has been signed with Birmingham University for research and collaborative activities in the agriculture sector, including Cold Energy.
