Enhanced Govt. Support under MEIS of Foreign Trade Policy
The Union Government has extended support to certain new products and the rate of incentives for certain other specified products under the Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS).
• The total government support extended under the scheme has been enhanced to Rs. 23,500 crore per annum from the present Rs. 22,000 crore.
• Besides, products that will get incentives include engineering goods, garments, fabrics, chemicals, glass products, ceramics, leather goods, periodicals, newspapers, silk items, wool products, made ups, tubes and pipes.
• MEIS was launched under Foreign Trade Policy of India (FTP) 2015-20.
• It is one of the two schemes introduced in FP 2015-20, as a part of Exports from India Scheme.
• The other scheme is Service Exports from India Scheme (SEIS).
• It seeks to enhance India’s export competitiveness of these goods and products having high export intensity, employment potential.

केंद्र सरकार ने कुछ नए उत्पादों के लिए एम.आई.एस के विदेश व्यापार नीति के तहत समर्थन दर बढ़ा दिया गया है।
• कुल सरकारी सहायता योजना के तहत वर्तमान में 22000 करोड़ से प्रति वर्ष 23,500 करोड़ कर दिया गया है।
• इसके प्रोत्साहन मिलने वाले उत्पादों में से है इंजीनियरिंग सामान, वस्त्र, कपड़े, रसायन, कांच उत्पादों, चीनी मिट्टी, चमड़े के सामान, पत्रिकाओं, समाचार पत्र, रेशम आइटम, ऊन उत्पादों, बनाया अप, ट्यूब और पाइप आदि ।
• एम.इ.आई.एस भारत की विदेश व्यापार नीति (एफटीपी) 2015-20 के तहत शुरू किया गया था।
• यह भारत के निर्यात योजना के एक भाग के रूप में एफपी 2015-20 में शुरू की दो योजनाओं में से एक है।
• अन्य योजना भारत सेवा निर्यात योजना है।
• इससे भारत निर्मित वस्तुओं के निर्यात में तेज़ी आने की संभावना है।
