BSNL to connect 1500 Gram Panchayats through OFC
BSNL plans to connect 1,518 gram panchayats with Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) this year in Assam to ensure rural connectivity.
● 5,200 kms of OFC will be laid this year to cover 1,518 gram panchayats, which accounts 70 per cent of the total gram panchayats in the state.
● Kshetri Gaon Panchayat in Kamrup district is likely to become the first digital gram panchayat of the country.
● BSNL will provide three thousand hot spots at important places and has already initiated steps for automatic hook up points through wireless network.
● Following demonetisation, BSNL has tied-up with SBI and will soon launch an e-wallet called Mobicash.
● Assam government has set the target to provide television, internet and telephone connection through a single connection to provide financial benefit to the people.

बीएसएनएल की असम में गांवों में संपर्क व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित करने के लिये 1,518 ग्राम पंचायतों को इस साल आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल (ओएफसी) से जोडऩे की योजना है।
● बीएसएनएल के मुख्य महाप्रबंधक एम के सेठ ने आकाशवाणी के गुवाहाटी केंन्द्र के ‘टॉक शो” कार्यक्रम में कहा, ”हमने ग्रामीण कनेक्टिविटी पर जोर दिया है और 1,518 ग्राम पंचायतो को जोडऩे के लिये 5,200 किलोमीटर ओएफसी बिछाया जाएगा। यह राज्य में कुल ग्राम पंचायतों का 70 प्रतिशत है।”
● आकाशवाणी ने आज एक विज्ञप्ति में सेठ के हवाले से कहा कि कामरूप जिले में क्षेत्री गांव पंचायत के देश का पहला डिजिटल ग्राम पंचायत बनने की उम्मीद है।
● उन्होंने कहा कि बीएसएनएल महत्वपूर्ण स्थानों पर तीन हजार हॉट स्पाट उपलब्ध कराएगी और इसके लिये कदम उठाना शुरू कर दिया है।
● दूरसंचार कंपनी नोटबंदी के मद्देनजर एसबीआई से गठजोड़ किया है और जल्दी ही ई-वालेट मोबिकैश शुरू करेगी।
● असम के आईटी विभाग के संयुक्त सचिव फकरूद्दीन अहमद ने कहा कि हमने मार्च तक एक लाख लोगों को डिजिटल रूप से साक्षर करने का लक्ष्य रखा है।
● इसमें से 65 हजार लोगों को पहले ही प्रशिक्षित किया जा चुका है। 2022 तक 25 लाख लोगों को डिजिटल रूप से साक्षर बनाने का लक्ष्य है।
