The salary of a Civil Judge in the Madhya Pradesh High Court has recently been revised. Previously, the salary range was Rs. 9000-250-10750-300-13150-350-14550, but now the revised MPCJ pay scale is 27700-770-33090-920-40450- 1080-44770.

So, the salary of a Civil Judge in MP Judicial Services can range from Rs. 27,700 to Rs. 44,770 per month. Aside from this PCS J Salary, the in-hand salary also incorporates various perks and remittances mentioned below:

The eligibility criteria required to apply for the MP judiciary exam 2025 are as follows:

Educational Qualifications for MPCJ [Latest Criteria Update]

You are eligible for the MP civil judge exam if you satisfy the following

• You must have completed your LLB degree of 3 or 5 years from a government-recognised law university.
• Exceptional law graduates with brilliant academic careers may still be considered.

1. To qualify, you must have passed all exams on the first attempt and secured a minimum aggregate of 70% marks for General and OBC categories.
2. For SC and ST categories, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required during the 3 to 5 years of your law degree.

MPCJ Age Limit 

You are eligible for the MP Judiciary Exam 2025 only if you satisfy the age limit criteria prescribed by the exam conducting body. Otherwise, your candidature will get cancelled.

• According to the official notification, your minimum age should be 21 years as of 01 January 2024.
• The upper age limit to apply for the exam is 35 years.
• However, age relaxation is given to certain categories as per the government's norms.

Updated News on MPCJ Latest Eligibility (timeline):

1. On June 24th 2023, MPHC released the latest update on the eligibility for MPCJ, the changes included: 70% in Graduation without any back or 3 years of practice.
2. The said order was challenged in the Supreme Court, however the court in October ordered the applicants to apply for relief in the MPHC.
3. On 17th November 2023, MPHC again updated the previous order with another provision, i.e. a compulsory certificate of practice of 3 years backed with 6 vakalat namas per year in orders or judgements.
4. The said order was challenged in MPHC, and on 11th December 2023, MPHC released another notification updating the eligibility for OBC candidates. The notification gave relaxation to OBC candidates, i.e., minimum of 50% aggregate marks are required in the 3 to 5 years of law degree (changed from 70% to 50%).
5. On December 15, 2023, the Madhya Pradesh High Court conveyed to the Supreme Court that all candidates will be granted permission to participate in the 2023 Civil Judge Junior Division (Entry Level) Recruitment examination, irrespective of whether they meet the criteria of having a minimum of 3 years of practice at the bar after enrollment or obtaining 70% marks.

Previous Updates on eligibility:

• As per the MP HC ruling, generating a certificate of continuous practice backed with 6 vakalat namas per year in orders or judgements is not compulsory if you can prove continuous practice by other means. 
• On 17 November 2023, the Madhya Pradesh High Court released a notification announcing new rules of eligibility and syllabus for the upcoming examination.
• According to amended Rule 7, if you're aspiring to become a Civil Judge in MP, there's a new requirement.
• You must have engaged in continuous practice as an Advocate for a minimum of 3 years on the last date fixed for submitting your MPCJ application with 6 vakalanamas every year in final orders..
• However, there's an alternative pathway for exceptional law graduates with an outstanding academic record.
• You can still be considered if you have passed all your exams on the first attempt and secured a remarkable 70% aggregate marks for General and OBC categories.
• For SC and ST categories, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required in the 3 to 5 years of your law degree.
