Punjab Judiciary Salary Details 2023

The pay scale for a Punjab civil judge ranges from 27,700 INR to 44,770 INR. It also includes a dearness allowance, travel allowance, and other allowances authorized by the Punjab government. However, the pay scale is subject to change from time to time. 

Punjab Judiciary Examination Eligibility Criteria 2023

All those who meet the necessary criteria can submit the application form for appearing in the examination. Given below is the Punjab Civil Judge Eligibility: 

Essential Qualification

  • You must possess, as of 10/10/2022, a Degree in Bachelor of Laws from any University incorporated by Law in India or a Degree of Bachelor of Laws from Punjab University (undivided), the Dacca University, the Tribhuwan University, Nepal, the Sind University or the Rangoon or Mandalay University in Burma, or should be a Barrister of England or Ireland or member of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.
  • The expression "Degree of Bachelor of Laws" means a degree entitling a candidate to be enrolled as an advocate under the Advocate Act, 1961, and the rules made there) Punjabi up to Matric or its equivalent Standard.
  • You must have studied Punjabi till Matric or any equivalent level. 

Nationality

  • You shall be an Indian Citizen.
  • Or, you shall be a subject of Bhutan or a Nepali citizen. 
  • Or, you shall be a person who is of Indian origin and has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and East African countries like Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Malawi, and Zambia with the intent of settling permanently in India.
  • Or, you shall be a Tibetian refugee who entered India before 01 January 1962 to settle permanently in India.

Note - Apart from Indian candidates, others must provide an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of Punjab in the Department of Home Affairs and Justice to obtain the appointment letter for the position.

PPSC Civil Judge Age Limit

  • You should not be below 21 and above 37 years on the last submission date of Online application Forms i,e,10/10/2022.
  • Ex-servicemen of Punjab Domicile shall be allowed to deduct the period of their service in the Armed Forces of Union from their actual age. If the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three years, they shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding the age limit.  
  • However, the upper age limit extends for certain categories as mentioned here:
