Every year, the United World Institute of Design conducts the UID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for admission in the various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the United World Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, and the United World Institute of Design, Delhi NCR Gurgaon.

The UID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is a national-level entrance examination, i.e. any student from any part of India can apply for this design entrance examination.

UID DAT is conducted in 2 phases, i.e. Phase 1 is a Design Aptitude Test, and Phase 2 is a Situation Creative Test.

Phase 1 of the UID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) comprises 100 marks. These 100 marks are divided into three subjects, i.e. 50 marks are allotted for the General IQ Test, 25 marks are allocated for the Critical Analysis Test, and 25 marks are allotted for the Creative Ability Test.

UID DAT 2023 Exam Pattern of UG Courses

The students are suggested to sit in a closed room with a proper light to be visible to the invigilator. They should sit near the Wi-Fi Router/Modem with their laptop battery fully charged before appearing for the examination as a measure against unexpected power outages.

• The candidates should remain within the focus area of the webcam/camera of their system all through and till they complete their ONLINE DAT test.
• Candidates can use rough worksheets (A4 size blank paper) for calculation or noting. Using of calculator and other electronic devices is strictly prohibited.
• The candidates can only type or write their answers in the English Language.
• The students have to answer every question. Attempting all the questions are mandatory, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
• The students can also use stationeries while attempting the examination. The stationary to be used are - A4 size paper, Ball Pen (Blue Ink), Pencils (B, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B), a Geometry box, a coloured pencil set, a ruler, and sharpener, and eraser.
• The students are allotted a maximum of 180 minutes, i.e. 3 hours, to attempt this design entrance test.
• There will be 36 questions for the Design Aptitude Test for the students appearing for the undergraduate DAT Paper. These 36 questions are divided into two parts.
• Part A consists of 40 marks, and Part B consists of 60 marks.
