SSC (Staff Selection Commission) conducts Junior Hindi Translator (SSC) JHT Exam every year to fill in various Translator posts across the country. SSC JHT Notification 2020, which is going to be released on April 17, 2020, will get postponed. However, there is "no official notice" released by the commission about the postponement.

  • 21 July 2020: The SSC JHT Exam which was scheduled to be held on 06 October 2020 has been postponed by the commission due to the current crisis across the country.   • 08 June 2020: As per the recent notice, the Paper-II Result of SSC JHT Exam which was held in 2019 will be announced in the month of June 2020.
  • 01 June 2020: As per the latest reports, the SSC JHT Paper -1 Exam is scheduled to be held on 06 October 2020.
  • 17 April 2020: The Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC JHT Notification for the year 2020.
  • 16 May 2020: The last date to fill the SSC JHT Application form was announced as May 16, 2020, by the commission.
  • 16 May 2020: The last date for submitting the receipt of the application form was declared as May 16, 2020.
  • 18 May 2020: It is announced that the last date for making online fee payments of the JHT Application Form was May 18, 2020.
  • 18 May 2020: The last date for generating offline Challan was May 18, 2020.
  • 20 May 2020: Candidates are able to make payment through Challan till May 20, 2020. It is advised that the payment should be made during the working hours of the Bank.
  • 01 October 2020: Paper-1, the computer-based exam is scheduled to be conducted on October 01, 2020.
  • January 2021: The Staff Selection Commission is scheduled to conduct SSC JHT Paper-2 (Conventional) Exam.

What is SSC JHT?

The SSC JHT is a  national-level examination conducted every year to recruit suitable candidates as Hindi Translator under various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. The duty of an SSC JHT involves:

  • translating/writing important documents, scripts, journals into the Hindi language.
  • Translation/Typing of documents from English to Hindi.
  • Ensuring the use/promotion of Hindi.
  • To help organize Hindi Meeting and Hindi workshops.
  • Maintaining files and records related to Hindi.
  • Translating various journals, forms, books, circulars, manuals, and articles in Hindi.
  • To act as a Teaching Officer for Hindi Teaching Scheme.

Many students will apply every year for SSC JHT Exam due to its high paid salary and extra allowances. Interested candidates should go through the SSC JHT Syllabus and exam pattern before filling the application form. SSC JHT exam is conducted in two stages: Paper I and Paper-II. candidates must note that the board will evaluate Paper-II only when one can qualify in the Paper – I exam.

Q. What is the mode of paying application fee for SSC JHT Exam?

A. Candidates can pay the application fees in both Online or Offline mode. In online mode, candidates can pay the application fee through Net Banking, Credit Card/Debit Card. If paying in offline mode, candidates must pay through SBI Challan which must be taken from the designated branches within the working hours. 

Q. Is Document verification a necessary criteria?

A. Yes, candidates shortlisted for document verification stage, then it is necessary to produce all the necessary documents. In case any candidate fails to produce any document, then the candidature will be cancelled.

Q. What to do when the category shown in the result is incorrect?

A. Candidates are advised to inform the SSC Regional office immediately for mistakes in Category found in the Result 

Q. What to do if Admit Card for SSC JHT examination is not received?

A. If the candidates do not receive the SSC JHT Admit Card in time, they have the option to ascertain their Roll Numbers and download the duplicate admission certificate from the official website, for which a link is provided usually 10-15 days before the date of the examination. In some exceptional cases, duplicate admit card are delivered to the candidates by hand from the office of SSC(ER) on some specified dates before the examination, for which ‘Notice’ will be posted on the SSC website.

Q. What is the time required for preparing for SSC JHT Exam?

A. If Studying for 4-5 hours daily, then around 4-5 months is enough for preparation. After which candidates can begin their revision.
