What is the MAT exam?

• The MAT exam is a national-level entrance exam for MBA and PGDM programs
• Conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA)
• Held four times a year in February, May, September, and December
• Three modes of examination: Paper-Based Test (PBT), Computer-Based Test (CBT), and Remote Proctored Internet-Based Test (IBT)

The flow of events before the release of MAT exam results and after MAT exam can be described in the sequence below:

1. 4 weeks before: MAT exam is conducted in various modes (CBT, PBT, IBT)
2. 3 weeks before: Candidates can download their MAT response sheet from the official website
3. 2 weeks before: AIMA releases the provisional answer key for MAT exam
4. 1 week before: Candidates can challenge the provisional answer key if they find any discrepancies
5. On the day of result release: MAT exam results are declared in the form of a scorecard on the official website of AIMA
6. After the result release: Candidates can apply to MAT participating institutes for admission based on their MAT scorecard.

2. Click on the "MAT 2024" tab
3. Click on the "Download Response Sheet" link
4. Enter your MAT Registration Number and Date of Birth
5. Click on the "Submit" button
6. Your MAT Response Sheet will be displayed on the screen
7. Download and save the Response Sheet for future reference.

The downloaded response sheet will have the following details:

• Registration ID & name of the candidate
• Section-wise questions and candidate's response to those questions
• The correct answer to all questions

How to address discrepancies in the Provisional Answer Key

They need to follow the steps given below:

1. Visit the official MAT website (https://mat.aima.in/)
2. Click on the "MAT 2024" tab
3. Click on the "Objection Form for Provisional Answer Key" link
4. Enter your MAT Registration Number and Date of Birth
5. Select the question number and enter the correct answer with justification
6. Pay the objection fee (if applicable)
7. Submit the objection form

Candidates should remember that they can raise objections only until the predefined time given by the exam conducting authorities and such requests won't be entertained after the release of the final answer sheet and MAT exam results.

How to Download the MAT Exam Result (Scorecard)

The MAT exam result (scorecard) can be downloaded using the below steps:

1. Visit the official MAT website at https://mat.aima.in/
2. Click on the "Download Score Card" button on the homepage.
3. Enter your login credentials, including your MAT registration number and date of birth.
4. Click on the "Submit" button.
5. Your MAT scorecard will be displayed on the screen.
6. Download and save the scorecard on your device.
7. Take a printout of the scorecard for future reference.

What is the selection process

The Selection Process based on the MAT Exam results starts as soon as the results are announced. The selection process is almost similar to that with CAT.

• Applying for Admission Based on the MAT scores, candidates can apply to MAT participating institutes for admission.
• The admission process usually includes Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT).
• Those who clear the cut-off for their respective institute get forward to other rounds of GD-PI.
• For some institutes, the final merit list is prepared by adding the scores from the GK sections; while some colleges don’t consider it.
