What is a CLAT exam center?

A CLAT exam center is an officially designated test venue — typically a school or college campus — where the Consortium of NLUs conducts the CLAT exam. Candidates don't pick the exact venue; they choose a preferred city, and the Consortium assigns a specific center within that city closer to the admit card release.

The Consortium of NLUs administers the CLAT 2027 Exam at various test centres across the country. However, the number of centers/cities where the exam is conducted may not be constant every year.

For instance, did you read about new additions to the exam cities during the 2027 exam session? The reason for this fluctuation is the increase or decrease in the number of applications. 157 CLAT Exam Center locations were announced, spread across 89 cities.

• When you apply for CLAT, how many centers can you select? You can select up to 3 center preferences while filling out the form.
• Can you edit your center location or change it after the CLAT admit card is out? You can request the Consortium to change the center. However, you're mostly allocated any exam venue in the first preferred city.

Scroll down to learn more about the Exam centre list (it is subject to change as per the announcements by the Consortium) and the dos and don'ts at the allocated centers.
