Chhattisgarh ADPO Recruitment 2026: Selection Process 

Chhattisgarh ADPO selection process includes two stages: a written examination followed by a personal interview for a combined total of 330 marks.  

Stage 1: Written Examination   

This is the screening stage. Every applicant who meets the eligibility criteria can sit for it.  

The paper tests General Knowledge and Law (covering both Major and Minor Acts), and candidates must clear the minimum qualifying marks in this paper to move forward.  

Stage 2: Interview  

Only candidates who clear the written exam's minimum qualifying marks are called for interview.  

CGPSC typically calls around 3 times the number of advertised vacancies to the interview stage. So, for 15 vacancies, you can expect roughly 45 candidates to be shortlisted for this round.  

At the interview stage, candidates must also submit self-attested or gazetted-officer-attested copies of all required certificates, mark sheets, and category/age-relaxation proofs for document verification.  

Candidates who are already employed must submit their No Objection Certificate (NOC), if they haven't already secured one before applying.  

How will the Final Merit List Be Prepared?  

Your final rank is determined by your combined score across the written exam and interview, calculated category-wise (i.e., unreserved, SC, ST, and OBC candidates are ranked within their own category against the vacancies reserved for that category).  

CGPSC does not release scorecards or mark-by-mark breakdowns until the entire selection process, including the final merit list, has been published. Therefore, don't expect interim score updates after just the written exam or just the interview.  

The Direct-Interview Exception  

If the number of applications received for this post doesn't justify holding a full written exam, the Commission has the discretion to skip the written exam entirely and select candidates through interview alone. 

 In that scenario:  

• The interview is conducted for 100 marks instead of 30. 
• Minimum qualifying marks will be 33% for unreserved candidates and 23% for reserved category candidates.
