CGPSC announced recruitment for Assistant District Prosecution Officer. However, to appear for the exam, it's important that you meet the Chhattisgarh ADPO eligibility conditions.

CGPSC released the ADPO 2026 notification on June 17, 2026, for 15 posts (10 regular + 5 backlog vacancies), with applications open from June 22 to July 21, 2026, and the written exam tentatively scheduled for September 20, 2026.

Chhattisgarh ADPO 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The Assistant District Public Prosecution Officer (ADPO) exam is conducted by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) to recruit gazetted second-class law officers who prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the state.

Educational Qualification 

The educational qualifications required for Chhattisgarh ADPO 2026 is quite simple:  

You need a bachelor's degree in law (LLB), either the 3-year LLB after graduation or the 5-year integrated LLB, from a university or college recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).  

Note: CGPSC does not insist on a separate Bar Council enrolment for this post, since ADPO is a direct recruitment into government service, not a litigation role that requires you to practise as an advocate first.  

Here are a few important points to note:  

• CGPSC explicitly states that candidates who are still awaiting their final LLB result are not eligible to apply. If your last semester result is declared even a week after the application deadline, you cannot apply for this cycle.  
• The 3-year litigation practice condition does not apply for the post of Assistant District Prosecution Officer.  

Chhattisgarh ADPO Age Limit 2026  

CGPSC states a specific age bracket for eligible candidates. However, there are generous age relaxations applicable for specific categories.

You must be a citizen of India to register for Chhattisgarh ADPO 2026. There is no provision for overseas citizens or foreign nationals for this post, unlike some central services with limited exceptions.  

Domicile status changes your base age ceiling by a full 10 years and offers category relaxations that non-domicile candidates cannot access.  

Chhattisgarh domicile is typically established through one of the following, though the exact documentary proof required:  

• A domicile/residence certificate issued by the competent Chhattisgarh authority 
• Educational certificates showing schooling within the state for a specified minimum duration 
• In some cases, birth in Chhattisgarh  

If you moved to Chhattisgarh recently or your family relocated for work, don't assume you qualify as "local" just because you currently live there.

• Step 2: Complete one-time registration (if you haven't registered on the CGPSC portal before) using your basic details and a valid mobile number/email. 
• Step 3: Log in and fill out the ADPO application form with personal details, educational qualification, category, and domicile status. 
• Step 4: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and category/domicile certificates (if claiming any relaxation) in the specified format and size. 
• Step 5: Pay the application fee online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI: ₹400 for General category and all other-state candidates and ₹300 for Chhattisgarh-local SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.  
• Step 6: Review the form carefully before final submission. The free correction window (July 22-24, 2026) is your only no-cost chance to fix errors; after that, corrections cost ₹500. 
• Step 7: Download and save the confirmation page/printout for your records

• Submitting without uploading domicile/category proof, then trying to add it later. CGPSC forms typically don't allow document changes outside the correction window.
