This year, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Notification for filling up more than 3000 vacancies in the Delhi Police department. The first stage of the SSC CPO Exam is scheduled in the month of November 2020. This post takes you through a detailed SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2020.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2020

  • There are four stages involved in the selection including Paper 1, PET/PST, Paper 2, Medical Exam.
  • Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are conducted in online mode and include Multiple Choice Questions. All the stages are qualifying in nature and mandatory to score above the cut off marks.

SSC CPO Paper 1 Exam Pattern 2020

SSC CPO Paper 2 Exam Pattern 2020

  • The third stage of SSC CPO is also an online mode of the exam with just one subject i.e., the English Language.
  • There are a total of 200 Multiple Choice Questions for 200 marks.
  • The time duration for the exam is 2 hours.

SSC CPO DME Pattern 2020

The last stage of SSC CPO is the detailed medical examination for all posts that include checking EyeSight, Physical and Mental Health, Medical Examination, Seven Obstacle Test. Based on the performance of candidates in Paper 1 and 2, candidates will be shortlisted for the Medical examination. After Medical examination shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification.

EyeSight

  • The minimum near vision should be N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye).
  • The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye).
  • In a right-handed person, the right eye is a better eye and vice versa.
  • The standards should be without visual correction of any kind even by glasses.

Physical and Mental Health

  • Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein, or squint in eyes.
  • They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Medical Examination

  • All the candidates who qualify in Paper-II will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs. 
  • Candidates, who are found to be unfit, will be informed of the position and they can make an appeal before Review Medical Board within the prescribed time limit of 15 days.
  • The decision of Re-Medical Board/ Review Medical Board will be final and no appeal/ representation against the decision of the Re Medical Board/ Review Medical Board will be entertained

Seven Obstacle test

Finally selected candidates for the post of  Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector will have to pass the obstacle test. Candidates who fail to pass this obstacle test as listed below will not be a part of the force.

  1. Jumping over the Vertical Board;
  2. Holding the rope on jumping from the Board;
  3. Tarzan Swing;
  4. Jumping on the Horizontal Board;
  5. Parallel Rope;
  6. Monkey Crawl;
  7. Vertical Rope.

Tattoo

Tattoos will be allowed as per the following stipulations only:

  • Content: Tattoo depicting religious symbols or figures and the name, as followed in the Indian Army are permitted.
  • Location: Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body like inner aspect of forearm but only left forearm, being non saluting limb or dorsum of the hands will be allowed.
  • Size: Size must be less than ¼ of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of the body.

SSC CPO Marks Normalization 2020

Aspirants must remember that SSC follows the normalization process for a fair evaluation of answers. As the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, the difficulty level of the paper varies across each shift. Hence, in order to equalize this, the marks are normalized up to five decimal places. 

Due to this SSC Normalization Process, the marks may increase or decrease. Based on the below formula, the Commission calculates the student's score.

SSC CPO DME Pattern 2020
