SSC CPO Exam 2018 (Central Police Organizations Exam)

About SSC CPO:

Staff Selection Commission(SSC) came into existence in the year 1975. SSC CPO is conducted to recruit candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector(SI), Assistant Sub Inspector(ASI), Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) exams in the country. SSC CPO jobs are highly respectable jobs which involves insuring the national security of the country.

  • Sub-Inspector in Border Security Force (BSF)
  • Sub- Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

  • Sub-Inspector in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

SSC CPO Notification 2018

The official SSC CPO notification was released on 3rd March 2018. The application form filling process commenced on the same date. And the last date of application was 13th April 2018. The Tier I exam was scheduled to be held from 4th to 10th June 2018. However, recently it was postponed via an official notice due to administrative reasons. How to Apply for SSC CPO

The application link for SSC CPO 2018 has been closed now. The procedure given below is according to the steps followed for the past few years' notifications.

  • First, visit the official website i.e "ssc.nic.in".
  • Click on the apply section.
  • Under CAPF Tab, click on the Apply Link for recruitment of sub-inspector in Delhi Police, CAPF's and assistant sub-inspector in CISF exam 2018.
  • Fill your basic details.
  • A unique registration number and password will be generated. Use this to login and complete the registration process.
  • After that, fill in all the required details.
  • Then, upload the scanned copies of the required documents. (You must click a passport-size photograph in front of a light colored-background, preferably white. The size of the photo should be between 4 to 12 kb in size. And the resolution of the photo should be 100*120 pixels in width and height. Furthermore, you must sign in blue/black ink on a white sheet. Its size should be between 1 to 12 kb. And the resolution must be 40*60 pixels in width). You must submit the scanned copies only in JPEG format.
  • Make the application fee payment of Rs.100 (except for reserved categories). You can make the payment either online or offline.
  • Finally, submit and take a printout of your SSC CPO application form for future reference.

SSC CPO Selection Process

The examination will consist of Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper-II and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). All the tests are mandatory and one must clear each stage in order to be eligible for the next stage of recruitment. For further details, read our article onSSC CPO Selection Process

SSC CPO Exam Pattern

Examination Paper Pattern of Tier I Exam:

Physical Endurance tests do not carry marks but are qualifying in nature. Candidates who clear PET/PST will have to write Paper II or English language test. The PET standards are as below:

For male candidates only

  • 100 meter race in 16 seconds
  • 1.6 Km race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump: 3.65 meter in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 1.2 meter in 3 chances
  • Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 meter in 3 chances
  • For female candidates only
  • 100 meter race in 18 seconds
  • 800 meter race in 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 meter (9 feet) in 3 chances.
  • High Jump: 0.9 meters (3 feet) in 3 chances.
