SLAT 2023 Exam Pattern: Section-wise Weightage

In the SLAT Entrance Exam, there are Generally 5 Questions where the weightage is equally distributed among each section.

Students must attempt all the sections and try to obtain maximum marks by making a correct choice of Answers in each segment.

SLAT 2023 Exam Pattern for WAT

Before starting your SLAT Exam Preparation, it is important to go through the paper pattern, as it will help you understand the number of questions, type of questions, and more.

For the Academic year 2023, Symbiosis International University has decided upon conducting the WAT separately so that students could get enough time as well as remain in the mind frame where they don't have to bother about other SLAT questions.

Also this year only those candidates will be given a chance to attempt WAT who have qualified for the SLAT MCQ Examination, Also this will not be conducted by the Examination Control body but by the SIU Campuses themselves.

The topics of the WAT Examination are picked from the domains like Political & Economical Issues, recent news of National or Global Importance, ICT, Education, or other prevalent Social issues which are considered notable in the eyes of the masses.

It will be a 30 mins examination where the students have to present their answers in the form of an Essay.

Also, this section will be carrying two Questions from Which you have to choose 1 and structure your answer accordingly.

SLAT Exam Pattern: The process of Selection for the SIU Law Schools

SLAT Examination is meant for selecting as well as eliminating candidates from all those listed aspirants who have been participating in their Common Entrance Law Examination of Symbiosis International University.

The selection process comprises 3 parts, The MCQ Question level, The Writing Aptitude Test, and Finally, the Counselling or Face to Face Interview round.

Students are expected to clear all 3 levels to get admitted to the SIU Law Schools. The Examination Body records the score of responses at each step and then chooses the candidates who have scored the best and have the best performance in all 3 levels of examination. This Weightage is reflected in the table below:

Frequently Asked Questions

There are going to be 60 questions in the MCQ section of the SLAT Exam 2023, where each question will carry 1 mark each marking it and examination of a total of 60 marks in addition to that the Writing Aptitude test will be having two Questions in which the candidates need to attempt only one.
Yes, SIU has Changed the examination pattern in 2023, the change being that the WAT which was earlier conducted together with the OMR Examination will now be conducted separately and only for the students Who have cleared the MCQ test.
In the SLAT Exam the MCQ carries a total of 60 marks while the Writing Aptitude test carries 30 marks. Lastly the Face to Face Interview round is 10 marks. 
In the Interview round, the candidates will be asked generalized questions which include Personal Questions like their hobby and aim followed by the Question which will be designed to check the student's awareness, their legal understanding, and how they approach different situations with their thought process.
The reason behind organizing MCQ and WAT is to reduce the number of contestants as well as to increase the efficiency of the test. Also when these questions are given separately then Students can concentrate on each segment Individually without getting stressed about the Essay Writing Section.
There are total 60 questions in the question paper and each question carries one mark.
