The MP ADPO cut off 2026 has not been released yet. The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) will publish it with the written exam result.

  • The MP ADPO 2026 exam is scheduled for 1 November 2026
  • Till the exam is conducted and the result is out, the 2021 recruitment is the only real benchmark.
  • Unreserved (UR) candidates needed 223 out of 450 to make the main list that year. With just 107 posts this time and negative marking in place, a UR score of 240 to 260 is a safer target for 2026.

MP ADPO Cut Off 2026 Overview

MPPSC does not release the MP ADPO cut-off as a separate notice. It comes with the written exam result, usually as a category-wise minimum marks table in the result PDF.

MP ADPO Expected Cut Off 2026 (Category-Wise)

The MP ADPO expected cut off 2026 for UR candidates is around 240 to 260 marks out of 450. For OBC, ST and SC candidates, a score in the 150 to 185 range should keep you in contention, and EWS candidates should aim for 200 or more.

These are expected cut-offs, not official figures. MPPSC does not publish an expected cut-off, so any number you see before the result is an estimate.

The ranges below are based on three things: the 2021 cut-off, the 2026 qualifying minimums, and the much smaller number of MP ADPO vacancies (posts) this year.

Category 2021 cut-off (out of 450) 2026 minimum total to qualify Expected safe score 2026 (out of 450)
UR 223 180 240 to 260
EWS 79 180 200 to 225
OBC 122 135 160 to 185
ST 151 135 165 to 185
SC 129 135 150 to 170

MP ADPO Previous Year Cut Off (2021)

The 2021 recruitment is the last completed MP ADPO cycle, which makes its cut-off the only official benchmark for 2026. MPPSC advertised 256 ADPO posts that year. The written exam was held on 18 December 2022 and the result came out on 4 January 2023.

MPPSC divided the posts using its 87:13 formula. That put 223 posts in the main part and kept the rest in a provisional part. The final selection list, released in 2024, named 219 candidates.

MP ADPO 2021 Cut Off: Category-Wise Marks

For the MP ADPO 2021 main list, the UR cut-off was 223 out of 450. EWS had the lowest cut-off among the main categories at 79.

Category Cut-off marks (out of 450) Approx. percentage
UR 223 49.6%
ST 151 33.6%
SC 129 28.7%
OBC 122 27.1%
EWS 79 17.6%

MP ADPO 2021 Cut Off Analysis

The MP ADPO 2021 Cut off  figures show a wide spread between categories, and a few patterns are worth noting before any candidates set a  2026 target.

  • UR needed about half the paper - A score of 223 is just under 50%. With negative marking, that works out to roughly 80 correct and 17 wrong, or 85 correct and 32 wrong.
  • The UR to EWS gap was 144 marks -  That gap came from how many seats each category had and how many candidates competed for them, not from any difference in the paper.
  • ST was higher than SC and OBC -  A category's cut-off depends on its own seats and its own toppers. Do not assume the reserved categories will always follow the same order.
  • 2021 had far more seats - With 256 posts in 2021 against 107 now, the 2021 figures are a floor to plan from. They are not a ceiling.

What Are the MP ADPO Qualifying Marks 2026?

The MP ADPO qualifying marks 2026 are 40% in each part of the written paper for General and EWS candidates, and 30% in each part for MP-domicile SC, ST and OBC candidates. Candidates have to clear both parts separately.

The exam pattern for written paper has 150 questions for 450 marks, split into two parts as per the MP ADPO exam pattern:

  • Part A: General awareness of Madhya Pradesh, India and the world. 50 questions, 150 marks.
  • Part B: Law. 100 questions, 300 marks.
Category Part A minimum (out of 150) Part B minimum (out of 300) Lowest possible qualifying total
General / EWS 60 (40%) 120 (40%) 180
MP-domicile SC, ST, OBC 45 (30%) 90 (30%) 135

MP ADPO Qualifying Marks vs Cut Off Marks

MP ADPO qualifying marks are a fixed minimum set in advance. Cut-off marks are the score of the last candidate in your category who gets an interview call, and they are known only after the result.

When Will the MP ADPO Cut Off 2026 Be Released?

The MP ADPO cut off 2026 will be released with the written result, after the 1 November 2026 exam.

MPPSC has not yet announced the official MP ADPO Result 2026 date. Based on the 2021 timeline, the result and category-wise cut-off marks may be released by late November 2026, although a December announcement is also possible.

The cut-off can only come after these steps are complete:

  1. Written exam on 1 November 2026.
  2. Provisional answer key, usually a few days after the exam.
  3. Objection window, where candidates can challenge answers they think are wrong.
  4. Final answer key, with dropped or corrected questions.
  5. Written result with the category-wise cut-off.

If the objection window runs long or many questions are challenged, the result can take longer.

How to Check the MP ADPO Cut Off 2026?

Candidates can check the MP ADPO cut off 2026 on the official website, mppsc.mp.gov.in, once the written result is out. It will appear in the result PDF or in a separate marks notice released alongside it. No login is needed.

  1. Go to mppsc.mp.gov.in and open the Results section, or check the latest updates on the homepage.
  2. Click the link for the Assistant District Public Prosecution Officer Examination 2026 result.
  3. Open the PDF and look for the category-wise minimum marks table, usually at the end.
  4. If MPPSC releases the result in two parts, check both the main (87%) list and the provisional (13%) list.
  5. Search the PDF for your roll number from the admit card, then save a copy.

How to Calculate MP ADPO Marks 2026?

To calculate your MP ADPO marks 2026, give yourself 3 marks for every correct answer and subtract 1 mark for every wrong answer. Unattempted questions score zero. Do this for Part A and Part B separately, then add the two.

Score = (Correct answers × 3) − (Wrong answers × 1)

MPPSC uploads a provisional answer key a few days after the exam. Match it against your responses and work through the steps below.

  1. Count correct, wrong and un attempted answers in Part A (50 questions).
  2. Work out your Part A score and check it against the minimum: 60 for General and EWS, 45 for MP-domicile SC, ST and OBC.
  3. Repeat for Part B (100 questions). The minimum is 120, or 90 for MP-domicile SC, ST and OBC.
  4. If both parts clear the minimum, add them to get your total out of 450.
  5. Compare your total with the expected safe score for your category in the table above.
Example Part A (50 Qs) Part B (100 Qs) Total Result
Candidate 1 (UR) 32 right, 8 wrong = 88 65 right, 20 wrong = 175 263 Both parts clear; total is in the safe range
Candidate 2 (UR) 18 right, 10 wrong = 44 90 right, 10 wrong = 260 304 Out, because Part A is below 60

Candidate 2 has the higher total but does not qualify. That is the part-wise rule at work, and it is the most common reason a good law score goes to waste.

A few mistakes candidates often make while estimating their score:

  • Counting only correct answers and forgetting negative marking, which can inflate the score by 30 to 50 marks.
  • Treating the 40% (or 30%) minimum as the cut-off.
  • Using the 2021 EWS or OBC cut-off as a target, even though both sit below the 2026 qualifying floor.
  • Checking only the total and not each part on its own.

What Factors Affect the MP ADPO Cut Off 2026?

The MP ADPO cut off 2026 will depend mainly on the number of posts in each category, how many candidates take the exam, how hard the paper is, and how negative marking pulls scores down. The smaller post count is the biggest change from 2021.

  • Fewer posts than 2021 - There are 107 posts this year against 256 in 2021. Fewer posts means fewer interview calls, so the last shortlisted candidate will sit higher in the merit order even if the paper is just as hard.
  • Category-wise seats - The 107 posts are split as UR 29, OBC 29, ST 21, SC 17 and EWS 11. A category with few seats can end up with a high cut-off, because a handful of strong scorers fill the list quickly.
  • More applicants after the reopened window - The jump from 17 to 107 posts and the reopened application window (10 to 24 July 2026) brought in late applicants. More serious candidates for each seat pushes scores at the top higher.
  • Negative marking -  Each wrong answer costs 1 mark. This pulls the overall score band down and favours candidates who skip questions they are unsure of.
  • Difficulty of the law section syllabus -  Part B carries 300 marks. A tough paper, especially on the new criminal laws (BNS, BNSS and BSA) alongside the older codes, can bring the cut-off down by several marks across categories.
  • Changes in the final answer key - If questions are dropped or answers corrected after objections, every candidate's score shifts. The cut-off is calculated only on the final key.

What Happens After Clearing the MP ADPO Cut Off?

Candidates who score at or above the MP ADPO cut-off are called for an interview worth 50 marks. The final merit list is based on written marks (out of 450) plus interview marks (out of 50), for a total of 500.

Documents are checked at the interview stage, not at the time of application. Keep these ready:

  • LLB degree and mark sheets
  • MP domicile certificate
  • Category certificate, if applicable
  • Admit card and a valid photo ID

Selected candidates join the Home Department as Assistant District Public Prosecution Officers, a Gazetted Class II post. See MP ADPO salary 2026 for pay and allowances.

The 2021 cut-off of 223 for UR gives candidates a starting point, but 2026 comparatively is a less challenging with 107 posts and negative marking.

If Candidates are in the UR category, aim for 240 or more, clear both part-wise minimums with room to spare, and treat accuracy as seriously as coverage.
