LIC AAO Law Officer Vacancy 

The Life Insurance Corporation of India announced 841 total vacancies for Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) and Assistant Engineer (AE) posts. Specifically, there are 410 vacancies for AAO Specialists across various streams. 

For the LIC AAO (Legal) stream, there are 30 vacancies. These vacancies are distributed across categories as follows:

LIC AAO Law Officer Exam Eligibility 2025

Candidates interested in applying for the post need to understand the LIC AAO law officer eligibility requirements and must fulfil all the requirements before the last date of eligibility, 1st August 2025

Educational Qualification 

  • Aspirants must possess a Bachelor's degree in Law from any University/College recognised by the UGC. 
  • A minimum of 50% marks or equivalent in the aggregate of all semesters/years is required. 
  • For candidates belonging to the SC/ST and PwBD categories, the minimum required marks are relaxable to 45% in the aggregate of all semesters/years, against vacancies reserved for such candidates. 

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025) 

  • The age of the candidate must not be less than 21 years and must not exceed 32 years
  • Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.2004 (both days inclusive).

Selection Process for LIC AAO Law Officer Exam 2025 

The LIC AAO law officer selection is based on a three-phase examination followed by a Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination. 

  1. Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Qualifying only) 
  2. Phase II: Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive) 
  3. Phase III: Interview (PI) 
  4. The final merit listing of candidates will be determined by the marks obtained in the Main Examination (Phase II) and the Interview

LIC AAO Law Officer Exam Pattern 2025 

The LIC AAO Law officer 2025 examination is conducted entirely online. Candidates need to understand the specific pattern adopted for the AAO (Legal) stream, which differs slightly from that of the Generalist streams in the Prelims. 

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (AAO Legal) 

The Preliminary Examination is an objective test conducted online with a total duration of 60 minutes. Kindly note that the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be counted for the final selection.

*Candidates must qualify for each of the Tests. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in the Preliminary Examination. Shortlisting for Mains will be around 20 times the number of vacancies. 

Phase-II: Main Examination (AAO Legal) 

The Main Examination for lLIC AAO Law Officer consists of an Objective Test (150 marks) and a Descriptive Test, conducted online in a single sitting. If you qualify in the Objective Test, then only your descriptive test paper will be checked. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers in the main examination.

Candidates shortlisted from the Mains Examination proceed to the Interview stage. The Interview carries a maximum of 60 Marks. Minimum qualifying marks in the Interview are:
