Overview: CUET UG 2024 adopts a hybrid format and limits subject choices to enhance candidate accessibility and minimize stress. Registration will begin shortly. Explore the strategic modifications designed for a streamlined and equitable examination process.
The Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET UG), an important test for university admissions in India, is expected to undergo significant changes in its upcoming 2024 iteration. These improvements, coordinated by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the guidance of the University Grants Commission (UGC), aim to improve accessibility, minimize logistical difficulties on applicants, particularly those from remote areas, and lessen examination stress through a moderated difficulty level.

In an important shift from the purely online format used since the beginning, CUET UG 2024 will be introduced in a hybrid manner. This decision allows for a combination of online assessments and traditional paper-based exams employing Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets for subjects with a higher registration number.
Another significant modification is the reduction of the subject choices accessible to candidates. Previously, applicants could select up to ten subjects, but they will now be limited to six. This change is motivated by data showing that most students choose only four or five subjects, making the procedure of selecting exam centers unnecessary complicated.
