The Consortium of NLUs has listed the counselling process instructions for the CLAT PG entrance exam 2022 on the official website.
The counselling is conducted through a centralized process by participating National Law Universities (NLUs). Only those who have qualified in the entrance exam are eligible for counselling.
All qualified aspirants will receive an email/text message asking them to attend counseling with all the relevant documents.

The consortium started the counseling after the declaration of CLAT PG Result 2022.
The registration process for the CLAT 2022 counselling involves two steps:
Only those who will register by paying the required amount on or before the last date are eligible to take part in the counseling process.
Those who have cleared the CLAT PG Exam 2022 must fill their choice of NLU before the last date of registration

The seat allotment process of CLAT is the allocation of National Law Universities and courses for those who cleared the entrance exam and appeared in the counselling.
The Consortium releases 5 counselling lists one after the other. A seat is allotted based on your score in the entrance exam and the order of preference given by you in the CLAT PG Application Form.
The consortium will provide the first provisional seat allotment list, including only those applicants who have completed the counseling registration process as outlined above. If you are on the First List will have THREE options as mentioned below:
a) Accept the Allotted Seat (Lock Seat) In these options, you are given an opportunity to lock the seat you have been offered confirming the seat, and debarring to shift your choice to any other NLU in the current counseling round. This is an option that is activated every counseling round after the publication of the symptomatic seat allotment list.
b) Apply for Upgrade This is an option that is made open to you in the second round of counseling. Also, this option is applicable to only those who have participated in the first round and have not yet locked their seats. The seats are given to you automatically in the event of a vacancy in your selected NLU. However, it is based on your selection from the subsequent allotment list.
c) Exit from CLAT Admission Process If you opt to quit the admission process, you will forfeit your present seat. Also, you will not be considered for allocation in the following lists. There is an option to withdraw the fee in two ways as mentioned below.
Only those applicants who have completed the counseling procedure will be considered for the 2nd provisional Seat Allotment List of CLAT, which Consortium will release. If you are who are given seats for the first time in the Second List and those who requested for Upgrade in the prior list will have the options listed below.
Only those applicants who have completed the counseling procedure will be considered for the 3rd provisional seat allotment list, which Consortium will release. If you are who are given seats for the first time in the Third List and those who requested for Upgrade in the prior list will have the options listed below.

If you are who are given seats for the first time in the Fourth List and those who requested for Upgrade in the prior list will have the options listed below.
Only those applicants who have completed the counseling procedure will be considered for the 5th provisional seat allotment list, which Consortium will release. If you are who are given seats for the first time in the Fifth List and those who requested for Upgrade in the prior list will have the options listed below.

You must carry the following documents on the day of CLAT counselling. Otherwise, you are not allowed to take part in the seat allotment process.

Will there be any waiting list for CLAT PG Counselling 2022?
The list will be prepared by selecting the candidates proportionately from different categories like- General/ SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ DFF/ NRI, etc both from the All India and State (Domicile) category of candidates.
Will there be any subsequent merit lists after the first allotment list is published for CLAT PG 2022?
The candidates who will fail to report to the Universities and complete the formalities of the admission within a stipulated date will be forfeited their claim for the admission and their seats will fill up by the University by following its own process, not by the CLAT PG Office.
The respective Universities will report the admission details to the CAT PG Office long with the number of vacancies that might remain same due to non-reporting of the candidates allotted under the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Actual Allotment List, which helps to the CLAT PG Office to make the declaration of the final allotment.
