In the recently published notice by Andhra Pradesh High Court Amravati, officially released on 12 January 2924! The Authority has announced 39 Judiciary Vacancies under Direct recruitment and Recruitment by Transferring, respectively.

In this list, the Judicial Service Andhra Pradesh has segregated 25 seats for the Direct recruitment process, while the rest 6 will be allotted on a promotion basis. Also, the direct recruitment seats have been reversed under different categories to provide equal chances to all participants and the General candidates.

Screening Test

They will conduct the Screening Test online, giving you two hours to solve 100 questions.

Each question will carry 1 mark, and they will penalize you 0.25 marks for each mistaken answer. These scores will be deducted from your aggregate marks. With online mode, we mean that it will be a Computer-based test, and you don’t have to deal with the pen-and-paper situation.

Written Examination

They conduct written examinations offline in Pen and paper mode, and you can only participate if you manage to clear the screening test.

You have to write 3 papers where the first paper will be on civil law, the second paper will be on Criminal Law, and the last will be on Translation (English language Test). The aggregate score will be 300 because each paper will be 100 marks, and there is no provision for negative marking because these questions are descriptive.

  • The first condition is that you must not exceed the age limit of 35 at the appointment time. 
  • Your age should be below 35 by the time of 1st November 2022.

Qualifications

  • Graduation in LLB (either Hons or Integrated) from a university that has been recognized by UGC and accredited by the Bar Council of India is required (BCI).
  •  If you have completed the degree abroad, it should be equivalent to its Indian counterpart. 
  • You must have no paper left for your appearance. Your results should include a score for each past paper with no backlog.

Nationality

  • You must be of Indian nationality and have at least one government document proving it.
  • Also, if you are an in-house candidate (an Andhra Pradesh resident), make sure to bring your residential certificate with you because Domestic candidates are given preference over candidates from other states.

Experience

  • Experience is not mandatory for Direct recruitment. Therefore even if you're a fresh Graduate, just out of college. You are eligible to apply for the Judicial Service Exam.

Physical attributes and Character Affirmations 

  • You must have an upright attitude with honest nature. You should have a promising reputation in your name. 
  • Should be free from Physical ailments (those which are not mentioned under the eligible handicapped candidates) 

Appointment via Transfer

  • If you are applying under recruitment via transfer, you must not exceed 48 years by 1st Nov 2023.
  • You must be practising as a Defender/Prosecutor. If not, then ensure you are registered with the state bar council.
  • If you are not currently serving in the judicial branch but have previously worked as an advocate, librarian, field assistant, etc.
  • The position should be held for a specified number of years, after which the appointed officer will be promoted to a higher-paying position.

  • One who is dismissed from High Court service.
  • If you have been involved in any morally corrupt situation.
  • If they have banned you from the UPSC, APPSC, or other State or Central level Civil Service Examinations.

  • Having more than 1 spouse can have you disqualified. 
  • You will not be deemed suitable for this role if you have any criminal record in your name.

Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Exam Reservation Policy 2024

 Certain reservation provisions are provided to the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Examination Aspirants. So what are the conditions for reservation? Check here: 

  • If you wish to avail yourself of reservation benefits, attach the caste/category certificate. 
  • You can compete in the open category if you do not have one. Your application will be considered under the General Category. 
  • If you intend to avail reservation under BC (A, B, C, D or E) category, then make sure to obtain a non-creamy layer certificate in terms of G.O. Ms No 3, Backward Class Welfare (C2) Department, dated 04/04/2006 & G.O. Ms No 26, Backward Class Welfare (C) Department, dated 09/12/2013. 
  • The candidates wishing to apply under the EWS category need to bring a certificate under the terms of G.O. Ms No 66, General Administration (Service D) Department, 14/07/2021 & G.O. Ms No 73 General Administration (Service D) 04/08/2021. The Tahsildar should issue it, and the income cap must not increase more than INR 80,000/- annually.
  • The recruitment should be subject to the Vertical Reservation for SC, ST, BC (A, B, C, D, E) & Horizontal reservation for Women and Physically Challenged (locomotor) as per Andhra Pradesh State Judicial (Cadre & Service) 2007. The reservation under the BC-E category shall be subject to the result of civil appeal Nos. 2628-2637 of 2010, pending on the Honourable Supreme court of India file.

Expected Cut-off in Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Exam

The direct recruitment process of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Exam, like any other competitive examination, has a cut-off score for enlistment. As a result, you should be aware that anyone who exceeds the required cut-off score will be considered the ideal candidate for the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Exam.

  • If you are in the General Category, you must score at least 40% in the Pre and Mains, and your overall score must be greater than 45%. (As a result, try to score as high as possible rather than settling for 40%).

Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Exam Reservation Policy 2024

 Certain reservation provisions are provided to the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Examination Aspirants. So what are the conditions for reservation? Check here: 

  • If you wish to avail yourself of reservation benefits, attach the caste/category certificate. 
  • You can compete in the open category if you do not have one. Your application will be considered under the General Category. 
  • If you intend to avail reservation under BC (A, B, C, D or E) category, then make sure to obtain a non-creamy layer certificate in terms of G.O. Ms No 3, Backward Class Welfare (C2) Department, dated 04/04/2006 & G.O. Ms No 26, Backward Class Welfare (C) Department, dated 09/12/2013. 
  • The candidates wishing to apply under the EWS category need to bring a certificate under the terms of G.O. Ms No 66, General Administration (Service D) Department, 14/07/2021 & G.O. Ms No 73 General Administration (Service D) 04/08/2021. The Tahsildar should issue it, and the income cap must not increase more than INR 80,000/- annually.
  • The recruitment should be subject to the Vertical Reservation for SC, ST, BC (A, B, C, D, E) & Horizontal reservation for Women and Physically Challenged (locomotor) as per Andhra Pradesh State Judicial (Cadre & Service) 2007. The reservation under the BC-E category shall be subject to the result of civil appeal Nos. 2628-2637 of 2010, pending on the Honourable Supreme court of India file.

Expected Cut-off in Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Exam

The direct recruitment process of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Exam, like any other competitive examination, has a cut-off score for enlistment. As a result, you should be aware that anyone who exceeds the required cut-off score will be considered the ideal candidate for the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Exam.

  • If you are in the General Category, you must score at least 40% in the Pre and Mains, and your overall score must be greater than 45%. (As a result, try to score as high as possible rather than settling for 40%).
  • If you are from the SC/ST/PWD community, you will receive a 5% reduction in your overall score.

Notes: Cut-offs are highly unpredictable because they depend on multiple factors and are not uniform. Hence, you must try to give your best instead of relying on the previous/estimated data of the cut-off score.
