MDI Application Process 2023

Ensure you fill in the CAT application form to study at MDI. Here is how to fill in the CAT application.

Apart from documents for CAT, ensure you have the below documents handy:

• Photograph (up to 100 KB). 
• Signature (up to 100 KB). 
• Marksheets and certificates for your claim of Academic Qualifications (up to 5 MB). 
• Caste Certificate and related documents (As applicable). 

Step 1: The combined online application form for MDI Gurgaon (PGDM/PGDM-HRM/PGDM-IB/PGDM-Business Analytics) & MDI Murshidabad (PGDM) shall be available on the MDI website https://www.mdi.ac.in/ with necessary instructions. 
Step 2: Online registration will be open till Friday, November 24, 2023, at 17:00 hrs.
Step 3: Candidates have to make an online payment of Rs. 3000 (Rupees three thousand only) inclusive of 18% GST, irrespective of the number of programs they apply for. 
Step 4: Candidates applying for both MDI-G and MDI-M have to make an online payment of Rs. 3590 (Rupees three thousand five hundred ninety only) inclusive of 18% GST. 
Step 5: NRI Candidates for MDI Gurgaon and Foreign Nationals/ Gulf Quota/ OCI candidates for MDI Murshidabad will have to make an online payment of Rs. 8496 (Rupees eight thousand four hundred ninety-six only) inclusive of 18% GST.

MDI Entrance Admission Exam (CAT) 

To study at MDI, one must appear for the CAT exam that will be conducted on Nov 26, 2023. 

Written Test 

CAT (Common Admission Test): For Indian aspirants, a valid CAT score is mandatory for admission to PG programs.

The CAT score is the primary criterion for shortlisting candidates for the next stages. 

Group Discussion and Personal Interview 

Based on CAT scores and the overall profile, candidates are shortlisted for the subsequent stages. This process may vary slightly depending on the specific program. 

Written Analysis (WA) 

Selected candidates undergo a written analysis where they might be given a topic or a case study. The goal is to assess the candidate's clarity of thought, writing skills, and ability to articulate ideas succinctly.

MDI Eligibility Requirements 2023

For all Post Graduate Programs, the eligibility is as follows - 

• The candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both class X and XII. 
• The candidate must have a minimum 3-year Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared as deemed to be University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. 
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent examination) and completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree by 30th June 2024 can also apply, subject to furnishing evidence to that effect by 31st October 2024; otherwise, they may be asked to withdraw from the programme. 
• In addition to the above requirements, candidates applying to PGDM-IB must have a minimum of 1 year (one year) post-qualification work experience as of 31st January 2024 after completing 4-year’s Bachelor’s degree. 

MDI Selection Process 2023

The selection process for Indian and NRI students vary as given below: 

For Indian Applicants

• Candidates will be narrowed down for the GDPI procedure based on the information supplied in the application form and their CAT scores.
• Between February and April 2024, shortlisted candidates will be contacted for group discussions and individual interviews at a centre in one of the following cities: Bangalore, Gurugram, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, or Mumbai.
• The short-listed candidates will be informed in advance if the GDPI procedure will also be done online through Zoom. 
• The weightings of the CAT-2023 scores, GD and PI, academic merit, academic diversity, work experience, and social diversity will determine the candidates' ultimate selection.

For Foreign Students 

• NRI applicants may submit applications using their current GMAT scores. For those who have been chosen for a personal interview, the process will take place in April 2024.
• Rules set forth by the Government of India (GOI) will be adhered to in relation to the admission of certain candidate groups.
• The status of applicants shall be determined in accordance with GOI regulations.
• NRI candidates must use a credit card, debit card, or net banking to make an online payment of Rs. 8496 (Rupees 8,496 only), inclusive of 18% GST.
