Oh my god! What are you talking about? I didn’t know this, Riya. This is how Shreya reacted when she learned about the latest update on CLAT 2023.
On October 31, 2022, the Consortium of National Law Universities, via a press release, stated that CLAT 2023 would be conducted only ONCE for the A.Y. 2023-24.
The Common Law Admission Test 2023 (CLAT 2023) is scheduled for December 18, 2022. The provisional answer key is expected to be released on December 19, 2022.
However, the final answer key and the result are likely to be released by the fourth week of December, and the counseling will commence in January 2022.
The CLAT is a national-level entrance examination for admissions to undergraduate (“UG”) and postgraduate law programs ("PG") offered by 22 National Law Universities in India.
Several affiliate universities and organizations use the CLAT exam for admissions and recruitment.
Common Law Admission Test for the A.Y. 2022-23 was held twice a year. CLAT 2022 was held during Summer and Winter in June and December, respectively.
Following the previous year's pattern, most law aspirants expected that the CLAT 2023 would be held twice a year. So, this might result in heartbreak for the CLAT aspirants.
The press release reads, “no second, or any other additional CLAT examination shall be conducted for admissions commencing in the Academic Year 2023-24.”
All admissions to the 5-year integrated B.A., LL.B. (Hons.), and LL.M. programs that commence in the Academic Year 2023-2024 at the 22 participating NLUs shall be through the CLAT 2023 to be held this December.
The exam is conducted only ONCE for admission to each Academic Year. No additional, second, or any other CLAT examination shall be conducted for admissions in programs commencing in the Academic Year 2023-2024.
Candidates who seek admission in the Academic Year 2023-2024 must register for CLAT 2023 by November 13, 2022.
