Indian Institute of Management Bangalore employs a two-phase selection process for its admissions: 

IIMB Admission Process 2025: Phase 1

The admission process for the PGP program at IIMB begins with submitting an online application. Candidates are shortlisted based on their scores, ensuring they meet minimum requirements in all sections of the admission test.

For those shortlisted, a pre-PI (Personal Interview) score is calculated using the following weights: 

• CAT score: 55 points
• 10th board score: 10 points
• 12th board score: 10 points
• Bachelor's degree: 10 points
• Work experience or professional courses: 10 points
• Gender diversity: 5 points

The CAT score, out of 55 points, is broken down as:

• VARC: 19 points
• DILR: 21 points

IIMB Admission Process 2025: Phase 2

The second stage of admissions at IIMB includes a Personal Interview (PI) and a Written Ability Test (WAT), both of which occur on the same day and in the same location. The WAT lasts about 30 minutes and is assessed based on content and writing style.

For scoring, the work experience weight is reduced from 10 to 5 points after the interview. This score is then combined with a quality of experience score (rated on a 5-point scale) from each interview panel member to create a revised work experience score.

The overall scoring breakdown after the PI is as follows:

• Personal Interview: 40 points
• Written Ability Test: 10 points
• CAT Exam: 25 points
• 10th Board Score: 5 points
• 12th Board Score: 5 points
• Bachelor's Degree Score: 5 points

The 25 points for the CAT exam are divided among the sections:
