The VARC section in Slot 3 followed the same structure as Slots 1 and 2, featuring 4 Verbal Ability and 4 Reading Comprehension passages (16 questions from RCs and 8 from VA).

The RCs, around 500–550 words each, leaned heavily on main idea and assumption-based questions.

One RC focused on “Ethics and Artificial Intelligence,” which was both contemporary and inferentially rich.

Odd-one-out questions were moderately challenging, while para-summary and odd-paragraph selection remained manageable. A good attempt stood at around 16–18 questions with moderate difficulty overall.

The overall level was moderate to tough, demanding efficient set selection.

CAT Slot 3 Analysis 2025: Quantitative Aptitude Section

Slot 3’s QA leaned toward the difficult side, marking it as tougher than CAT 2024 but slightly easier than CAT 2023.

Arithmetic dominated with nearly 8–9 questions that looked simple but required careful calculation.

Algebra contributed about 7 questions, and Geometry covered 2–3. Topics like surds, indices, logarithms, and basic functions appeared once each.

While arithmetic questions were conceptually clear, others in algebra and geometry were lengthy and data-intensive.

A solid attempt of 10 questions could fetch around the 98 percentile, while 12 questions might push close to 99.5 percentile. Overall, QA was rated moderate to difficult.
