Karnataka Judiciary Eligibility Criteria 2020

Eligibility is the first requirement to fill the application form. Here is the brief Judiciary Eligibility Criteria for candidates willing to apply for Karnataka Judiciary. In the Karnataka Judciairy exam, there are 2 ways for selecting candidates as explained below.

For Direct Recruitment:

  • Candidates applying through direct recruitment must have a degree in law and must have enrolled as an Advocate.
  • SC or ST applicants must not have completed 43 years of age as of 26th March 2020.
  • Unreserved candidates must not have completed 40 years of age.

Recruitment of In-service Candidates

  • If you are already in service and willing to apply for Civil Judge post, then you must have a degree in law awarded by a recognized University in India.
  • SC or ST candidates must not have attained the age of 38 years as on 26th March 2020.
  • Unreserved candidates must not have attained the age of 35 years.
  • Those who have required qualification and are working in High court and in District Judiciary are eligible to apply.
  • Those who are working in the Department of Prosecutions and government litigation as assistant public prosecutors cum additional government pleaders can apply.

Registration/Filling the Application Form

  1. Visit the official website of Karnataka High Court i.e., karnatakajudiciary.kar.nic.in
  2. On the homepage, click on the Notifications tab.
  3. In the drop-down menu, select Recruitment.
  4. A list of Recruitment appeared on the new page.
  5. Click on the link "Notification No. CJR 1/2020 for direct recruitment of 53 Posts of Civil Judges"
  6. Now, you can view a list of links for various events. 
  7. Click on the link "To Apply Online Application --Click here--"
  8. On the new page, click on the "Online Application" Button.
  9. Next click on the OK button. In the next screen, read all the instructions and check to Proceed further by clicking (√) on Acceptance
  10. Now, select Civil Judge in the drop-down
  11. Enter all the personal details correctly i.e., Candidate Name, Father Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Category, Marital Status, Citizenship, Contact Information, Annual Income, Permanent Address, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
  12. Next, complete the Enrolment Information by entering all the right details. Next, you will have to enter all the Educational Qualification details.
  13. Further, the candidate needs to enter Law Graduation Information and Practice Information.

Uploading of Documents

  • Applicants need to upload the passport size photograph and signature in the specified format.
  • Upload the latest passport size photograph with white background having (5 cm of length X 3.6 cm of breadth with maximum size 50kb) in *.jpg format
  • Select Passport Size Photo from the Dropdown list.
  • Click on “Choose File” to select the file.
  • Click on the Upload button to upload the Photograph.
  • For signature, applicants must scan and upload their signature, signed in black ink on white paper having (2.5 cm of length X 7.5 cm of breadth with maximum size 25 kb) in jpg format.
  • Select “Applicant Signature” from the Dropdown list.
  • Click on “Choose File” to select the file.
  • Click on the Upload button to upload the Signature
  • Check the box after uploading the documents and submit the form.

Payment of Application Fee

  • After submitting the form, the Application Number will be generated.
  • Candidates take a printout of the form and make the payment 
  • Read the detailed instructions before proceeding with the payment of the fee. 
  • Applicants can make the payment either through online mode or offline mode.
  • The application fee must be paid twice. The first payment is done for prelims while the second payment is done after qualifying the prelims exam.
  • After the release of the prelims result, candidates will be given 15 days' time for paying the mains exam fee. Check the amount to be paid and complete the payment accordingly.
  • If you are paying through online mode, then you complete the payment of application fee by SBI online payment gateway.
  • If you are making the payment through offline mode, then you must download the challan from SBI Online Payment gateway and remit the fee in any branch of SBI

Online Mode of Fee Payment

  • For online mode, use "ONLINE SBI PAYMENT PORTAL”.
  • Under this tab, applicants need to enter their application number and captcha code. 
  • Click on the "GO" button to proceed further for making payment.
  • Applicants shall click and agree to the terms and conditions of SBI Bank collect and click the “Proceed” button as shown in the below screen.
  • Next, you will directed to the new page “REGISTRAR GENERAL, HIGH COURT OF KARNATAKA” SBI Collect page. Select Payment Category as “ONLINE RECRUITMENT”.
  • After clicking, you will be asked to fill certain details like Candidate Name, Application Number, Retype the Application Number, Enter the correct date of birth, select the correct Fee, Mobile number, and captcha. 
  • Click on the confirm button.
  • Upon clicking on the confirm button, a screen showing the list of payment methods will be displayed. 
  • Select the most convenient method of payment to pay the fee.
  • Follow the procedure as prescribed by the bank to make payment through Net Banking and Card Payment.

Offline Mode of Fee Payment

  • Upon clicking on the confirm button, a screen showing the list of payment methods will be displayed. 
  • If you have selected an offline method i.e., challan payment, then for downloading the State Bank Collect challan form, click the “SBI Branch” option under the “Other Payment Mode” label. 
  • Click on pdf link “Click here to save the Pre-Acknowledgement form in Pdf” to download the Challan form
  • Applicants shall pay the application fee in any of the SBI branches and Applicants shall secure the Depositor Copy of the Challan and display the same to the authority without fail.

After the payment, click on the “Pay-Confirmation” button to proceed payment is success or failure. Applicants shall enter DU Reference number of SBI payment with the date of birth or Mobile no., and Confirm whether the payment was paid to the Registrar General, HIGH COURT OF KARNATAKA, Bengaluru.
