US Surgeons Perform First Pig-to-Human Kidney Transplant

• In a groundbreaking medical achievement, surgeons from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston have performed the first pig-to-human kidney transplant. A 62-year-old man with end-stage renal disease received a new kidney from a genetically modified pig.

Sathiyan Gnanasekaran Creates History at WTT Feeder Beirut 2024

• Indian star paddler G. Sathiyan has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first-ever Indian to win a men’s singles trophy at a WTT Feeder Series event. This historic moment took place in Beirut, Lebanon.
• This men’s singles title at the WTT Feeder event in Beirut marks Sathiyan’s first success at a WTT event.
• It is also his first singles title at an international ranking event since the ITTF Czech International Open 2021.

• World Tuberculosis (TB) Day is an annual observation celebrated on March 24th.
• Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs.
• It is caused by a type of bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
• The theme for World TB Day 2024 is “Yes! We can end TB“.
• The first World TB Day was officially observed in 1983, and it has become an annual event since then. 

International Day for the Right to the Truth 2024

• Every year, on March 24, the International Day for the Right to the Truth concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims is observed.
• The date of March 24 was chosen to commemorate Monsignor Óscar Arnulfo Romero, who was assassinated on March 24, 1980.
