बांग्लादेश मनाएगा 1971 के मुक्ति युद्ध की 50 वीं वर्षगांठ

• 1971 के मुक्ति युद्ध में पाकिस्तान पर भारतीय जीत के 50 वें वर्ष में, भारतीय नौसेना जहाज बांग्लादेश की तीन दिवसीय यात्रा के लिए मोंगला के बंदरगाह शहर पहुंचे। भारतीय नौसेना जहाज 8 से 10 मार्च के बीच तीन दिवसीय यात्रा पर है। यह पहली बार है कि कोई भी भारतीय नौसैनिक जहाज बांग्लादेश के मोंगला बंदरगाह का दौरा कर रहा है।
• इस यात्रा का मूल उद्देश्य बांग्लादेशी और भारतीय लड़ाकों और नागरिकों को श्रद्धांजलि देना है, जिन्होंने पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ 1971 के मुक्ति युद्ध के दौरान अपना जीवन समर्पित किया था। जहाज 1971 के मुक्ति युद्ध के 50 साल पूरे होने और ऐतिहासिक भारत-बांग्लादेशी मैत्री को दोहराने के लिए चल रहे स्वर्णिम विजय वर्ष समारोह में भाग लेंगे।

 UNEP फूड वेस्ट इंडेक्स रिपोर्ट 2021

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम (United Nations Environment Programme -UNEP) और WRAP ने फूड वेस्ट इंडेक्स रिपोर्ट (Food Waste Index Report) 2021 जारी की और 2019 में विभिन्न देशों द्वारा खाद्य अपशिष्ट पर प्रकाश डाला। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, 2019 में वैश्विक स्तर पर 931 मिलियन टन से अधिक भोजन बर्बाद हो गया।
• भारत में, घरेलू खाद्य अपशिष्ट का अनुमान 50 किलोग्राम प्रति व्यक्ति प्रति वर्ष या 68,760,163 टन प्रति वर्ष है।
• अमेरिका में घरेलू खाद्य अपशिष्ट का अनुमान 59 किलोग्राम प्रति व्यक्ति प्रति वर्ष या 19,359,951 टन प्रति वर्ष है।
• चीन के ये अनुमान 64 किलोग्राम प्रति व्यक्ति प्रति वर्ष या 91,646,213 टन प्रति वर्ष है।

भारत के राष्ट्रपति ने किया मध्य प्रदेश  के सिंगोरगढ़ किले में संरक्षण कार्यों का उद्घाटन

• भारत के राष्ट्रपति, राम नाथ कोविंद ने मध्य प्रदेश के दमोह जिले के सिंग्रामपुर गाँव में सिंगौरगढ़ किले के संरक्षण कार्यों का शिलान्यास किया है। उन्होंने भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण (Archaeological Survey of India) के नव नक्काशीदार जबलपुर सर्कल का भी उद्घाटन किया।
• इसके अलावा, राष्ट्रपति कोविंद ने दमोह के सिंग्रामपुर गाँव में राज्य स्तरीय जनजातीय सम्मेलन 'जनजातीय सम्मेलन' को संबोधित किया। कार्यक्रम का आयोजन संस्कृति मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार और मध्य प्रदेश के जनजातीय मामलों के विभाग द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से किया गया था।

• भारत की स्टार शटलर पीवी सिंधु ने स्विट्जरलैंड के बासेल में आयोजित BWF स्विस ओपन सुपर 300 के विमेंस सिंगल फाइनल में सिल्वर मैडल जीता है। विश्व की 7 नंबर खिलाड़ी सिंधु को एक कड़े मुकाबले में वर्ल्ड की 3 नंबर खिलाड़ी और ओलंपिक चैंपियन कैरोलिना मारिन से हार का सामना करना पड़ा।

• भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम ने 6 मार्च को अहमदाबाद में चौथे और अंतिम टेस्ट में एक पारी और 25 रनों से इंग्लैंड को हराने के बाद ICC वर्ल्ड टेस्ट चैम्पियनशिप फाइनल के उद्घाटन के लिए क्वालीफाई कर लिया है।
• न्यूजीलैंड ने पहले ही WTC फाइनल के लिए 11 टेस्ट में से 7 जीत और 4 हार के साथ 420 अंकों के साथ क्वालीफाई किया था। वर्ल्ड टेस्ट चैम्पियनशिप फाइनल 18 जून से लंदन के लॉर्ड्स क्रिकेट ग्राउंड में खेला जाएगा।

 बजरंग पुनिया ने माटियो पैलिकोन वर्ल्ड रैंकिंग सीरीज में स्वर्ण पदक जीता

• कुश्ती में, विश्व चैम्पियनशिप के कांस्य पदक विजेता बजरंग पुनिया (Bajrang Punia) ने इटली के रोम में आयोजित माटियो पैलिकोन रैंकिंग सीरीज (Matteo Pallicone ranking series) में स्वर्ण पदक जीता। उन्होंने 65 किग्रा फ्री स्टाइल इवेंट फ़ाइनल में मंगोलिया के तुल्गा तुमुर ओचिर को 2-2 से हराया। 27 साल के हरियाणा के पहलवान के लिए यह लगातार दूसरा स्वर्ण पदक है, जिसने 2020 में इस प्रतियोगिता में फाइनल में संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के जॉर्डन ओलिवर (Jordan Oliver) को हराकर स्वर्ण पदक जीता था।
• इसके अलावा, ऐस इंडिया की महिला पहलवान विनेश फोगट (Vinesh Phogat) ने 53 किग्रा श्रेणी में स्वर्ण पदक जीता। 26 वर्षीय विनेश ने कनाडा के डायना विकर (Diana Weicker) को 4-0 से हराया।

उत्तराखंड के सीएम त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत ने दिया इस्तीफा

• त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत ने निर्धारित चुनाव से एक वर्ष पहले उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री के पद से, इस्तीफा दे दिया है। 2017 की शुरुआत में विधानसभा चुनाव में भाजपा की जीत के बाद सीएम बने रावत ने राज्यपाल बेबी रानी मौर्य (Baby Rani Maurya) से मुलाकात के बाद अपना इस्तीफा दे दिया।
• केंद्रीय भाजपा नेतृत्व ने हाल ही में मुख्यमंत्री के खिलाफ असंतोष की खबरों के बीच राज्य में पार्टी के मुख्य समूह से प्रतिक्रिया प्राप्त करने के लिए दो पर्यवेक्षकों, पार्टी उपाध्यक्ष रमन सिंह और महासचिव दुष्यंत कुमार गौतम को उत्तराखंड भेजा था।

 नाबार्ड के चिंताला ने APRACA के अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला

• नाबार्ड के अध्यक्ष, जी आर चिंताला ने APRACA (एशिया पैसिफिक रूरल एंड एग्रीकल्चर क्रेडिट एसोसिएशन) के अध्यक्ष के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण किया है। उन्होंने DPK गुनसेकेरा से पदभार ग्रहण किया है, जो बैंक ऑफ सीलोन के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी भी हैं। चिंताला ने, APRACA अध्यक्ष के रूप में अपने संबोधन में, एशिया प्रशांत में ग्रामीण वित्त के विकास को बढ़ावा देने में APRACA के सदस्यों की भूमिका की सराहना की।

अमेठी में स्मृति ईरानी की जीत पर पुस्तक का जल्द होगा लोकार्पण

• पत्रकार-लेखक अनंत विजय की पुस्तक "अमेठी संग्राम: ऐतिहासिक जीत अनकही दास्तान के अंग्रेजी अनुवाद का विमोचन 15 मार्च को किया जाएगा। "डाइनस्टी टू डेमोक्रेसी: द अनटोल्ड स्टोरी ऑफ़ स्मृति ईरानीस ट्राइंफ 14 में लोकसभा चुनाव के दौरान अमेठी, उत्तर प्रदेश के कांग्रेस के गढ़ में केंद्रीय मंत्री ईरानी की हार से 2019 में उनकी जीत की यात्रा का वर्णन किया गया है। हिंदी पुस्तक दिसंबर 2020 में प्रकाशित हुई थी। पुस्तक को आरएसएस की कार्यशैली, उसकी रणनीतियों और अनुकरणीय निष्पादन के अध्ययन के रूप में भी देखा जा सकता है जिसने 2014 से 2019 तक स्मृति ईरानी के प्रयासों का समर्थन किया।
• 44 वर्षीय भाजपा नेता ने तत्कालीन कांग्रेस प्रमुख और सांसद राहुल गांधी को उनके परिवार के गढ़ में 55,120 वोटों के अंतर से हराया था। यह दूसरी बार था जब ईरानी ने अमेठी में राहुल के खिलाफ चुनाव लड़ा था। 2014 में, राहुल को ईरानी के 30,0748 वोटों के मुकाबले 4,08,651 वोट मिले थे।

HDFC बैंक ने लॉन्च किया SmartUp उन्नति कार्यक्रम

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस के अवसर पर HDFC बैंक ने बैंक में महिला अधिकारियों द्वारा महिला उद्यमियों को सलाह देने के लिए "स्मार्टअप उन्नति" नामक एक समर्पित कार्यक्रम शुरू करने की घोषणा की है।

• एलायंस इंश्योरेंस ने सूक्ष्म, लघु एवं मध्यम उद्यमों (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises- MSME), छोटी दुकान और बिजनेस ओनर्स अलायंस को वित्तीय सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए बीमा पोर्टल 'SMEInsure' लॉन्च किया है। यह बीमा श्रेणी के तहत 5 करोड़ लघु और मध्यम उद्यमों (SME) का बीमा करने के लिए एक पोर्टल है।
• यह पोर्टल विशेष रूप से, एक phygital फॉर्मेट में बीमा सेवाएं प्रदान करेगा। व्यक्तिगत निजी सहायक के माध्यम से भौतिक और पोर्टल के माध्यम से डिजिटल बीमा। एलायंस इंश्योरेंस का लक्ष्य पहले वर्ष में 5 करोड़ से अधिक SME तक पहुंचने और 10 करोड़ रुपये के राजस्व की उम्मीद है। भारत में लगभग 97% SME का बीमा नहीं किया जाता है।

• SME पेशेवर क्षतिपूर्ति, निदेशक और अधिकारियों, समुद्री, आग और चोरी आदि के लिए अपने व्यवसाय का बीमा करवा सकते हैं।

Bangladesh to commemorate 50th anniversary of 1971 Liberation war

• In the 50th year of Indian victory over Pakistan in the 1971 Liberation war, Indian Naval Ships arrived in the port town of Mongla for a three-day visit to Bangladesh. The Indian Naval Ships is on a three-day visit between March 8 to 10. This is the first time ever that any Indian Naval Ship is visiting the port of Mongla in Bangladesh.
• The basic aim of this visit is to pay homage to the Bangladeshi and Indian combatants and citizens who laid down their lives during the Liberation War of 1971 against Pakistan. The ships will take part in the ongoing Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations to commemorate 50 years of the Liberation War of 1971 and reiterating the historic Indo-Bangladeshi friendship.

 UNEP Food Waste Index Report 2021

• The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and WRAP released the Food Waste Index Report 2021 and highlights that food wastes by different countries in 2019. As per the report, Over 931 million tonnes of food were wasted globally in 2019.
• In India, the household food waste estimate is 50 kg per capita per year, or 68,760,163 tonnes a year.
• The household food waste estimate in the US is 59 kg per capita per year, or 19,359,951 tonnes a year.
• China these estimates are 64 kg per capita per year or 91,646,213 tonnes a year.

President of India Inaugurates conservation works at Singorgarh Fort in MP

• The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has laid the foundation stone for the conservation works of Singorgarh Fort in Singrampur village of Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh. He also inaugurated the newly carved Jabalpur Circle of Archaeological Survey of India.
• Apart from this, President Kovind addressed the State Level Tribal Conference ‘Janjatiya Sammelan’ at Singrampur village in Damoh. The program was organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the Tribal Affairs Department of Madhya Pradesh.

PV Sindhu wins silver in BWF Swiss Open Super 300

• India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu has won a silver medal in the BWF Swiss Open Super 300 in the final of the women’s singles event held at Basel, Switzerland. The World No. 7 Sindhu lost to World No. 3 and reigning Olympic champion Carolina Marin.

• Men’s Singles : Viktor Axelsen (Denmark) beat Kunlavut Vitidsarn (Thailand).
• Women’s Singles: Carolina Marin (Spain) beat PV Sindhu (India).

 India qualify for ICC World Test Championship Final

• Indian Cricket Team have qualified for the inaugural ICC World Test Championship final after beating England in an innings and 25 runs in the fourth and final Test in Ahmedabad on 6th March.
• New Zealand had already qualified for the WTC final with 420 points from 11 Tests with 7 wins and 4 losses. The World Test Championship final will be played at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London from June 18.

 Bajrang Punia bags gold in Matteo Pellicon World ranking series

• In wrestling, the World Championship bronze medallist Bajrang Punia won a gold medal at the Matteo Pallicone ranking series held in Rome, Italy. He defeated Mongolia’s Tulga Tumur Ochir 2-2 by criteria in the 65kg freestyle event final. It is the second successive gold medal for 27 years Haryana wrestler, who had won the previous gold at this competition in 2020 by beating Jordan Oliver of the USA in the final.
• Apart from this, the ace India woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in the 53kg title. The 26-year-old Vinesh beat Canada’s Diana Weicker 4-0.

Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat resigns

• Trivendra Singh Rawat has resigned as the chief minister of Uttarakhand, a year before the hill state is scheduled to go to polls. Rawat, who became the CM after the BJP swept the assembly elections here in early 2017, tendered his resignation after meeting governor Baby Rani Maurya. According to reports, the party is mulling bringing in a deputy chief minister, the frontrunners for the post include State Education MinisterDhan Singh Rawat, MP Ajay Bhatt and Satpal Maharaj.
• The central BJP leadership had recently sent two observers, party vice president Raman Singh and general secretary Dushayant Kumar Gautam, to Uttarakhand to get feedback from the party’s core group in the state amid reports of discontent against the chief minister.

 NABARD”s Chintala takes charge as chairman of APRACA

• NABARD chairman, G R Chintala has assumed charge as the chairman of APRACA (Asia Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association). He has taken over from DPK Gunasekera, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Ceylon. Chintala, in his address as APRACA Chairman, appreciated the role of the members of APRACA in promoting the development of rural finance in Asia Pacific.
• APRACA, established in 1977, is an association of institutions involved in agricultural, rural and microfinance policy and development, representing 21 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

A book on Smriti Irani’s victory in Amethi released soon

• The English translation of journalist-author Anant Vijay’s book “Amethi Sangram: Aitihasik Jeet Ankahi Dastan” will be released on March 15. The book, titled “Dynasty to Democracy: The Untold Story of Smriti Irani’s Triumph”, traces Union Minister Irani’s journey from her defeat in 2014 to her victory in the Congress stronghold of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh during the 2019 Lok Sabha election. The Hindi book was published in December 2020. The book can also be seen as a study of the RSS’s working style, its strategies and exemplary execution that backed Smriti Irani’s efforts from 2014 to 2019.

 Frontier Gandhi’s autobiography released in English

• The autobiography of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, popularly known as the “Frontier Gandhi”, titled “The Frontier Gandhi: My Life and Struggle” is set to be published in English by the publishing house Roli Books. This will be his first autobiography in English. The book was translated into English by Imitiaz Ahmad Sahibzada, the former Pakistani civil servant and author.
• The earlier account of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan’s life in English was a collection of his interviews and was not his autobiography. The foreword of the book is written by historian Rajmohan Gandhi, Grandson of Gandhi and the book was originally written in Pashto and published in 1983.

HDFC Bank launches SmartUp Unnati programme

• HDFC Bank on the occasion of International Women’ Day has announced the launch of a dedicated programme named “SmartUp Unnati” for mentoring women entrepreneurs by women leaders at the bank.
• Under the SmartUp Unnati programme, over the next one year, senior women leaders from HDFC Bank will mentor women entrepreneurs in helping them achieve their goals. This programme is available only to exist customers and will initially target more than 3,000 women entrepreneurs associated with the bank’s SmartUp programme.

 Alliance Insurance launches insurance portal ‘SMEInsure’

• Alliance Insurance has launched the insurance portal ‘SMEInsure’ in order to provide financial security to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), small shop and business owners Alliance. It is a portal to insure 5 crores Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) under the insurance category.
• Notably, the portal will provide insurance services in a phygital formate. physical, through individual personal assistance and digital insurance through the portal. The target of Alliance Insurance is to reach more than 5 crore SMEs in the first year and expect revenue of Rs 10 crore. Approximately 97% of the SMEs in India are not insured.

Important Points

• Its objective is to help SMEs in managing multiple risks through a single platform ranging from buying insurance, renewing cover to filing claims.
• This portal will provide options to choose and compare products from various well-known insurance services including HDFC Ergo, Bajaj Allianz, Iffco Tokio, Tata Aig, Liberty General Insurance, Raheja QBE, Reliance General Insurance, and SBI General.
• SMEs can get their businesses insured for professional indemnity, director and officers, marine, fire and burglary etc.
