Rajasthan APO Prelims Result 2026: Selection & Qualifying Criteria

Candidates who clear the category-wise cut-off in the Rajasthan APO exam 2026 prelims will be eligible to move forward to the next stage.

Here are a few points about the exam structure and selection criteria.

  • The Prelims is an objective-type paper that carries 100 marks.
  • It covers Law and General Hindi & English; the prescribed weightage is 70:30, respectively.
  • Candidates don't need to qualify separately for these subjects. Your combined score across both sections will be considered.
  • 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Your actual Prelims marks are not added to your Mains score and play no role in the final merit list. It's only meant for shortlisting.
  • Candidates must score a minimum of 40% to qualify. SC/ST candidates get 5% relaxation on this cut-off.

Rajasthan APO 2026 Expected Cut off

Rajasthan APO Cut Off 2026 will be released by the official authority of the exam which is Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). RPSC will release the Rajasthan APO cut off along with the result.

The cut off is the minimum required marks, applicants need to secure to qualify for the next stage of the selection process. The cut-off may vary for different categories based on various factors (mentioned below).

Factors Affecting Rajasthan APO Cut-Off

  • Exam difficulty
  • Number of vacancies
  • Number of candidates
  • Overall performance
  • Category-wise reservation
  • Previous-year cut-off trends

What Happens After RPSC APO Result 2026 Prelims?

The Rajasthan APO Prelims Result 2026 is only the first stage that decides who gets shortlisted. Here's what happens after that:

Eligibility Confirmation for Mains

When you clear the cutoff, you become eligible to sit for the Mains exam. It does not reflect where you'll stand in the final selection. That depends entirely on how you perform in the descriptive papers ahead.

RPSC Announces the Mains Exam Date and Window

Once the number of qualified candidates is finalized, RPSC typically follows up with the Mains exam date and the schedule for downloading Mains admit cards.

Generally, this announcement can take a few weeks after the Prelims result. So don't expect the Mains date to be announced on the same day as the Prelims result.

The Preparation Clock Starts Ticking

The gap between the Prelims results and the Mains exam stretches several weeks or months. It's your actual preparation window for the recruitment stage that decides everything.

If You Don't Qualify

Candidates who don't clear the cutoff are not carried into any further stage of this recruitment cycle. The only path forward is applying again in a future APO recruitment cycle, if eligible by age and qualification at that time.

How to Prepare for Rajasthan APO Mains While Awaiting the Prelims Result?

The gap between exam stages is exactly when serious preparation should happen, not after the result drops. A few priorities worth focusing on right now:

  • Build comparison charts between the old and new criminal codes (IPC vs BNS, CrPC vs BNSS, Evidence Act vs BSA), since this cycle tests both frameworks together.
  • Start Mains answer-writing practice early. The Law paper is descriptive and section-cite-heavy. This skill takes months to build, not weeks.
  • Don't ignore the Language paper. With 100 of 400 Mains marks riding on Hindi and English, a strong Paper II can meaningfully shift your final rank.
  • Set out time for revision. Make sure you complete the syllabus on time and dedicate enough time for revision.

Here are your key takeaways:

  • The Rajasthan APO Result 2026 will be released a few weeks after the prelims conducted on September 02, 2026.
  • While the result for Rajasthan APO prelims is expected to be released by October-November 2026, use the time in between smartly.
  • Prepare revision notes, practice descriptive answer writing, and solve PYQs.
